BROOKE Vincent is returning to soap after her maternity leave – but she’s not headed back to Coronation Street.

The actress, 33, has played Kevin and Sally’s youngest daughter Sophie Webster for 15 years between 2004 to 2019.

She left the soap in 2019 to go on maternity leave after welcoming son Mexx with former professional footballer Kean Bryan.

Just 18 months later the couple welcomed their second son Monroe.

And now Brooke is ready to return to soap – but she won’t be back on Corrie.

Instead the actress has joined rival soap Hollyoaks for a major new role.

She was revealed to be joining the show today in an Instagram live on the soap’s page.

Brooke was filmed on set posting her own statement which read: “So excited to be joining the cast of Hollyoaks for such a powerful storyline.

“I am so grateful for this opportunity to be back on screen playing a brand new character plus my family will be happy I’m back in a full time job haha!”

And The Sun can reveal that she is joining as a full-time cast member.

A source said: “Brooke is an amazing signing for the soap.

“She’s a great actress and she’s got a huge storyline coming – one that will surprise people.

“It’s going to be really, really exciting as it all plays out.”

Brooke previously opened up about wanting to return to Corrie.

“I feel like Corrie for me is home,” Brooke told the Mirror last year.

“Whenever, if ever, they ask me, I’d love to go back and see them. It’s a different type of job now we’ve got the boys. I’ve got a lot of friends there, it’s like my family.

“It’s such a lovely place to work, so definitely, I feel like I’ve had such a long time off that I’ve been able to enjoy my children without the schedule of how hard it can sometimes be.

“I think obviously now they’re a bit older and they’re a bit more independent, and there’s obviously the opportunity to take on more work.

“It’s the adult conversation, routine, it’s always a gorgeous place for me to work, and I have gone off and worked in different environments with different people, but Corrie is a huge part of me, and I feel incredibly lucky to have that.”
