EastEnders fans have shared concerning theories about Denise Fox after a recent scene rang alarm bells as to why the character appears to be absent from the soap’s 2027 flashforward storyline.

In yesterday’s episode, Denise told Sam Mitchell she’d been feeling tired and needed to make a doctor’s appointment to check that everything was in order. The exchange, paired with Denise’s absence from the 2027 scenes, prompted fans to share their theories on Reddit.

“After today’s episode, I’m worried Denise is ill and Sam is pregnant,” one viewer shared, referring not just to Denise’s fate but also to Sam’s potential pregnancy. Phil’s sister recently had a one-night stand with the tireless Zack Hudson, who’s also having an affair with Vicki Fowler.

“I think she could have a cryptic pregnancy but I think Denise having a Illness after Sam is too much,” another commented, with that viewer hoping that EastEnders wouldn’t go down that route with Denise after Sam’s breast cancer.
