SHOCKING TWIST!!! Coronation Street’s Maggie plots another Megan fightback – but she’s changing tactics

Coronation Street Soap Scoop! Todd’s escape plan
Maggie Driscoll will plot another fightback against Megan Walsh on Coronation Street next week, though she’ll have a change of tactics this time around. Wanting the abuser to be brought to justice, Maggie continues the fight.
The ITV soap has explored an issue-based storyline in recent months, with Will Driscoll, Maggie’s grandson, being groomed by his athletics coach Megan. After weeks of secrecy, Megan’s crimes eventually came to light.

Though her true nature was exposed, Megan is yet to be formally charged with any crime, meaning that several Weatherfield residents will take matters into their own hands when it comes to justice.
In the Driscoll family itself, Ben has come under fire by Ollie, who has criticised him for not protecting Will. Ben is visibly stressed and is consoled by Eva Price, with the scene being previewed in a new clip.
In the teaser, which can be viewed below, Ben is abrupt with Eva upon his return home, and she tells him to not take his mood out on her. She also urges him to be kind to Ollie, as the whole family is in a difficult situation.

As Ben laments the fact that the police are yet to do anything, Maggie can be seen listening in on the conversation. As Ben leaves, Maggie makes her next move and implores Eva to confront Megan herself.
Eva says she didn’t want to go behind her partner’s back, though Maggie – who is no stranger to a touch of deceit – stresses that it was the “exact” thing to do. Eva looks torn, but it will soon become apparent that Maggie’s words have an effect.

In scenes that will take place after the teaser clip, Eva will enlist the support of Leanne and Toyah Battersby, with the trio confronting Megan. Like the previous confrontation with Maggie, the latest scuffle ends in violence.
“Maggie advises Eva to face up to Megan herself before Ben does something he’ll regret, and a scrappy Eva takes that very literally,” teased our Weatherfield insider. “This is a serious warning to Megan that she’s messed with the wrong family.”

Coronation Street’s Pauline McLynn has delved further into the darker side of her character Maggie Driscoll, and the lengths she’s prepared to go to in order to protect her family.
It was revealed towards the end of last year that Maggie, who lives at the Rovers Return pub, is hiding the secret that she pushed her husband down the stairs and killed him.
She has a temper and always wants to ensure her loved ones are safe – and that’s a recipe for disaster when you currently reside on a street that sees residents in danger on the daily.
The Driscoll clan had their entire world turned upside down recently when they discovered youngster Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) was being groomed by Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon).
Frustratingly for the clan though, they cannot find any evidence that proves something inappropriate happened between the pair. With Will in denial and Megan refusing to take a DNA test to confirm she’s carrying the teenager’s baby, the family aren’t sure how the evil woman will face justice.
In upcoming episodes, Maggie decides that direction action is needed where Megan is concerned, and decides to pay her a visit to warn her off.
Describing her character as a ‘woman of action’, star Pauline McLynn has said that Maggie completely believes she can sort the situation out.
‘I mean, there are matters with the police over the grooming of the grandson, but I think she feels that the law moves at a very slow pace and for rules that she does not have to play by’, she explained.
‘They also have to be really careful of how they approach any situation whereas Maggie’s more of a blunt instrument. She just thinks, “look, I’m going to solve this, sort it out, I’ll find her. I’ll warn her off”.
‘I have to say, we’ll see a splendidly devious side of Maggie because no one knows exactly where Megan has gone to hide and Maggie finds out in a very underhanded way. I was quite pleased when I saw that! But she does what nobody else would do, she goes to all kinds of lengths to find out wherever Megan is and then she goes to confront her because nothing else is working.

Pauline added: ‘There’s some more splendid rows to be had, splendid fighting and all very enjoyable to do. Even including, I’m not going to lie, by accident or otherwise as is the way of Maggie’s life, there are physical fights. Oh, yes, she’s not above getting her hands dirty at all.’
Pondering over what Maggie thinks of Megan, Pauline said: ‘I think to be honest with you, she’s met her match very much in Megan, who it doesn’t seem will stop at nothing to get what she wants and is a brilliant liar like Maggie is, or a concealer of the truth, let’s say.
‘They’re quite well matched like that. So it’s really wonderful to see two women from opposite sides of an argument having a proper go at one another. And of course, solidifying Maggie’s absolute total loyalty to family and will do pretty much anything to keep it intact or safe.’
The situation between Maggie and Megan escalates so much, Megan ends up reporting the Driscoll matriarch for assault.
Despite the police now getting involved, that doesn’t prevent Maggie from facing another round with Megan later in the week.

‘She dismisses it as kind of nonsense, a waste of everyone’s time to be complaining about this. A little bit of rough and tumble, things escalated a little, let’s get on with it. You know? That’s if denying it in the first place hasn’t worked, she then goes, “look, it could have happened to anyone! It’s just the way it was going, she escalated it, not me!” She’s not a woman who backs down easily, I will say that’, the star said.
‘I think people would be disappointed if we didn’t see her having another go, having not had any satisfaction from the first go of running the woman out of town. She’ll just go again and keep going until it happens, that’s if Megan doesn’t disappear first or whatever.
