OMG SHOCKING!!! Coronation Street star engaged after shock proposal

Lucy-Jo Hudson, who played Katy Harris in Coronation Street from 2002-2005, revealed that her partner of eight years popped the question… and she said yes!
The star announced her big news on Instagram, admitting that she is “on cloud nine”.
Lucy-Jo, who also had roles in Casualty and Hollyoaks, admitted she had ‘no idea’ her longterm partner Lewis Devine was about to get down on one knee.
In her lengthy caption, posted alongside snaps of the pair glammed up together, the 42-year-old wrote: ‘I’m still on cloud 9.’

‘8 years, our blended family, and a moment I never saw coming.
‘Lew has had this planned for months… and I had no idea….’
‘He took me back to the Lakes, where some of our first memories began. We spent the day reminiscing, just us, walking through the most beautiful quiet gardens with no one else around.’
‘We talked about our kids, our future, how far we’ve come and then Lew just held me tight, telling me about how much he loves our kids, and how he can’t imagine doing life without me… and then suddenly, he was on one knee.’

‘I was already crying and saying YES before he’d even finished asking me.’
‘No big audience, no big show, just us, and a quiet, perfect moment that meant everything. After all our ups and downs, we’ve come out stronger, and now we get forever.’
‘I’m still on cloud 9 – and I can’t stop looking at my stunning ring, and the man who gave it to me’
‘Thank you for choosing us, always. I love you baby @lewisdevineofficial and I can’t wait to marry you’.
Another image posted to her grid showed the screen star flashing her diamond ring in a mirror selfie.

The huge sparkler shimmered in the light of the snap – and Lucy-Jo held up a glass of fizz to celebrate.
Lucy-Jo previously dated Coronation Street legend Alan Halsall, who plays everyone’s favourite chipper mechanic, Tyrone Dobbs. They met during Katy’s stunt in Corrie, where her character, wayward teen Katy Harris was embroiled in some of the most dramatic and shocking in the show’s history, often referred to by fans as the “Killer Katy” era.

Originally arriving in Weatherfield with her family under the name ‘Nelson’ as part of a witness protection programme to escape gangsters, Katy began a relationship with Martin Platt, who was almost twenty years older than her. When her dad Tommy Harris kept them apart, Katy killed her own father by hitting him with a wrench in a moment of fury, leaving her mother Angela to cover up the murder. Katy was unable to live with the guilt and committed suicide, leaving her family under suspicion.
After her time on the Cobbles, Lucy-Jo did a stint on Hollyoaks where she played Romeo Nightingale’s (Owen Warner) fearsome mother Donna-Marie Quinn, as well as appearing in Casualty numerous times. Despite being on different soaps, She continued her relationship with Alan and the two were married in 2019. They have a daughter together, Sienna.

However, in 2018, fans were shocked to learn the couple split up after nine years of marriage, sparking a public fallout
Two months after her break-up with Alan, Lucy-Jo began dating Lewis, who starred alongside her in a stage production of Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs in 2017.

Lewis and Alan had become mates during the run at the Theatre Royal in St Helens, Merseyside.
At the time, a pal opened up on the early stages of their relationship and said: ‘Lucy-Jo and Lewis shared an instant chemistry, but obviously she was married and didn’t act on it.’
‘After trying for months, she and Alan called time on their marriage and something slowly developed with Lewis’.
