HOTTES NEWS TODAY!!! The scales fall from Dr Todd’s eyes in Emmerdale as Jacob seals her comeuppance

Emmerdale spoilers follow for Monday’s (April 20) episode that is now available to view on ITVX. The episode in question will air on ITV1 on at 7:30pm.
Jacob Sugden (Joe-Warren Plant) had enough of the bullying he has endured at the hands of Doctor Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) and thus decided to take back control, reporting his so-called mentor to HR.
Todd, as viewers know, has been undermining first year medical student Jacob at every opportunity, accusing him of not making enough effort despite the fact that he’s working every hour imaginable, not to mention that he’s supporting wife Sarah (Katie Hill) and preparing for fatherhood.
You’d be hard pressed to find a harder worker in that village.
Jacob copped on to Todd’s mind games last week when she brought up his abuser Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein) right before a shift doing a blood drive at The Hide.
Horrified, Jacob subsequently confronted her on such a thing, with Todd claiming to have had no clue that he was the student that Maya had groomed – though Jacob soon got confirmation from Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) that the medical professional was in fact aware of what he’d went through.
Determined to make Todd stop, Jacob confronted her at Tug Ghyll, stating that he wanted a transfer. Todd, however, claimed that a transfer wouldn’t be in either of their best interests.
Believing she’d resolved the situation, Todd couldn’t help but smile. Little did she know, however, that Jacob wasn’t pleased and, unwilling to put up with her gaslighting and control any longer, he filed a complaint with HR, branding Todd’s teaching style ‘unsafe’.
Monday’s offering of the ITV soap saw him have a follow-up meeting with HR and thus he headed to the hospital on his day off – the day of Sarah’s baby shower.
He encountered Todd, who wanted to make sure they were on the same page following their chat previously. Jacob played along and thus made his way to the meeting, which had been temporarily delayed.
While waiting, he encountered colleague Rich, who wasn’t best pleased to hear of his intention to report Todd, believing tat such a thing will backfire on his career.

Jacob, however, was keen to do what was right, not wanting anyone else to endure what he has. But as he was called to his meeting with HR, Doctor Todd was walking nearby – and it’s safe to say she was taken aback.
She underestimated Jacob, who has set in motion her comeuppance.
But with Todd being a master manipulator, the question is: will she strike back? As fans know, she has already been peddling the narrative that Jacob is obsessed with her just in case she was caught out – so will she turn the tables on him?
Or will Jacob be able to prove just how abusive Todd has been and stop her in her tracks?

Emmerdale spoilers follow for Friday’s (April 17) episode that is now available to view on ITVX. The episode in question will air on ITV1 on at 7:30pm.
Despite her penchant for mind games and manipulation, it turns out that Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) isn’t all that good at covering her tracks, having made quite the slip-up which could prove to be her downfall.
The abusive doctor, as viewers know, has made Jacob Sugden’s (Joe-Warren Plant) life a living hell at the hospital, undermining him at every given opportunity, pitting him against his colleagues and accusing him of not making enough effort, despite the fact he’s working every hour imaginable, supporting his wife and preparing for fatherhood.
The pressure she repeatedly puts him under results in Jacob questioning his every move and walking on eggshells around his boss, having no idea how she will react to anything that he says or asks.
In a bid to get some time away from his so-called mentor, Jacob requested to swap shifts with Rich, doing the blood drive at the Hide. Todd, however, revealed that she would be overseeing the event, which left Jacob on edge.
On the morning of the event, Todd commented on how nice it was to see Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) happy with Chas dingle (Lucy Pargeter), making reference to his ex’s including Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) and ‘all that unpleasantness with Maya’, saying it’s ‘unsettling’ to discover someone’s not who you thought they were.
The comment left Jacob knocked for six. The medical student, as viewers will recall, was abused by high school teacher Maya when he was a teenager.
He attempted to find out what exactly Todd’s game was by bringing up Maya but she put him off, reminding him that they’re working. The situation escalated further when Todd suggested he take her blood and, given how she makes him doubt himself, Jacob questioned every move he made. Todd grimaced in pain when he attempted to take blood, which left him worried that he’d hurt her.
Later, he apologised for any pain he caused but as the discussion moved to Maya, he demanded answers in regards to her previous comment. Todd feigned shock when Jacob revealed that he was the child Maya had groomed, claiming she had no idea. Then she proceeded to cry, stating her shock that he would such a thing of her.

Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) overheard the conversation and intervened, revealing that Todd’s father had died overnight.
Jacob was apologetic but, unable to stop thinking about the situation, he spoke to Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker), who confirmed that she’d told former colleague Todd about his ordeal with Maya.
