EE/Nish had one of the best villain arcs.

On their wedding day, Nish had poisoned Eve’s champagne, after which she collapsed. He then confronted Suki on a hotel balcony. And then came the shocker: He revealed his plan for them to die together. Next, he tied himself to Suki so that she would also fall with him. Later, Ravi arrived and learnt that Nish had also hirt Denise. Hence, he pushed his father over the balcony.

Navin Chowdhry has been captivating audiences with his chilling performance in EastEnders and now the Nish Panesar actor is set to star opposite a former Walford villain.

The actor, who made his EastEnders debut as Nish last year, will star in The Effects of Lying, which has been acquired by ITVX and will stream in July.

The film, the first production from independent company Bonaparte Films, boasts an impressive cast, with former EastEnders actor Ace Bhatti, who played Yusef Khan on the soap, starring in the leading role opposite Holby City’s Laila Rouass.

Described as ‘delightfully chaotic’, The Effects Of Lying tells the story of husband and father Naveen (Ace Bhatti), whose life falls apart after a series of shock events take place over the course of just one day.

Naveen’s world comes crashing down when he finds his brother (played by Navin Chowdhry) in bed with his wife Sangeeta (Laila Rouass), with lies pouring out and shocking truths uncovered.

‘Naveen is a man who tries to do right by his family,’ said actor Ace Bhatti. ‘He’s trying so hard to keep his fractious family together, but within 24 hours he learns three very deep, very dark secrets that break his life apart.
