Theo has been abusing husband Todd for many months

Carl Webster, Megan Walsh, Theo Silverton, Maggie Driscoll and Jodie Ramsey were the ones in the firing line.

But it was Theo, who had long been abusing his husband Todd Grimshaw, who ended up dead at the end of the episode.

Viewers were left feeling annoyed by Theo’s demise, because they thought he deserved a punishment for abusing Todd.

Many fans of the soap have been left disgruntled over how another domestic violence culprit has been killed rather than being punished by the law.

Fans of the soap are angry as he was not punished by the law C

Viewers are saying that the soap is sending wrong message to real life victims.

One fan on X penned: “So they have kept us watching for months, hoping Theo would be punished for the violence, then kill him off. Doesn’t show any hope for real life victims. Writers and producers need sacking.”

Another added: “Just realised all of #Corrie’s domestic abusers over the past decade or so – are now dead.

“Yes, Kirsty was sent to prison but was killed off-screen years later.

“Yasmin was put through hell with Geoff. Todd deserved justice for all Theo did and murder is no proper comeuppance.”

While a third said: “As a lot of people have mentioned on here, it does seem like abusive characters do die on the show and I would’ve loved this to be the case for Theo, he deserved to face justice for everything he done to Todd.”

James Cartwright, who played Theo for 18 months, told The Mirror: “Who has killed Theo? Even though the terror is now stone-cold dead, the trauma he has caused will live on. It’s going to be a huge whodunnit.”

The actor, 41, also told the publication: “I think everyone should be rejoicing today.

“Theo got Corrie’s very own form of moral justice and I am glad he has. Yes, we could have had a court case.

“But I don’t know if there was the stomach to relive all that pain. This murder is far juicier.

“Of course, I am going to miss Corrie a lot.

“I’ve spent 18 months around some of the greatest people. It’s been a privilege to be in their orbit and to have been given such a big part.
