Emmerdale’s Jacob to be framed by Dr Todd in complaint twist

Emmerdale‘s Jacob Sugden is pushed to breaking point by wicked Dr Todd next week – and finally summons the courage to proceed with a formal complaint against his manipulative boss.

But will people believe Jacob after Todd sets him up to look like the villain of the story?

“Jacob makes a terrible error of judgement by following Todd into the women’s toilets in The Woolpack to confront her – which is exactly what she wants him to do,” explains our Emmerdale insider.

“It all kicks off after Todd tells Sarah that Jacob is desperate to get back to work, despite them having a newborn baby. Understandably, Jacob is infuriated by the suggestion, so he confronts Todd in the pub, which escalates with him following her into the loos.

“It’s a foolish move to begin with, but looks even worse for Jacob when Vanessa catches him in there.”

Later that day, Vanessa turns up at the shop to condemn Jacob for his inappropriate behaviour.

Afterwards, Sarah insists that Jacob tell her what Vanessa is going on about, which triggers the trainee doctor to break his silence over Dr Todd’s campaign of harassment.

“Jacob is teary-eyed when he tells Sarah about the misery that Dr Todd is putting him through at work,” continues our spy. “Thankfully, Sarah believes her husband’s every word, and vows to help him deal with the problem.”

Sarah realises that Dr Todd’s manipulation is taking its toll on Jacob, then issues some home truths to Vanessa for believing Todd’s claims.

Meanwhile, Jacob sits down for his latest meeting with Carol from the HR department, to talk about making a formal complaint against his boss. However, Jacob is stunned when Carol reveals that Todd has beaten him to it.

“Carol explains that Todd has presented heaps of evidence incriminating Jacob – including voice recordings,” reveals our source. “It’s a crushing moment as Jacob concludes that he has no chance of winning his case. Todd really does have him over a barrel…”

Feeling defeated, Jacob brings Sarah up to speed about Todd’s file of evidence. It’s soon clear that Sarah is in no mood to give up and encourages Jacob to fight back against Todd – not only for his career, but for his late mum Leyla’s sake too.

With Sarah’s words ringing in his ears, Jacob visits Tug Ghyll to confront Dr Todd.
