Emmerdale Soap Scoop! Charity’s dramatic labour

Emmerdale‘s Mandy Dingle wrestles with a secret next week as her husband Paddy frets about being sent to jail. As Mandy and Paddy consider what life would be like if they were separated for a long time, it’s clear that one of them isn’t telling the full truth…

Paddy recently confessed to helping his father Bear Wolf cover up the death of Ray Walters.

He and Dylan Penders both admitted their involvement in moving the body and trying to conceal the truth, hoping that their honesty would back up Bear’s account of how he’d acted in self-defence.

With a court case now looming, Paddy and Dylan are starting to wonder how severe their punishment will be.

Next week, Paddy expresses his relief that the salon will provide Mandy with a solid income while he’s away.

“The last thing Paddy wants is for Mandy to struggle if he’s not around,” explains our Emmerdale insider. “As far as he knows, though, the salon is going well and Mandy won’t have anything to worry about.

“If anything, Paddy’s focus is on Bear and Dylan – he hasn’t spotted that everything isn’t as it seems with Mandy…”

Mandy is visibly worried after Paddy’s comments about the salon, but will she tell him why?

Lisa Riley, who plays Mandy, recently told Inside Soap: “Since Mandy returned from Donegal it’s been full-on. She’s been trying to hold the family together, but we’re going to find out there’s actually something going on she hasn’t told anyone – the salon is really struggling financially because she was away for so long and has taken her eye off the business.

“She doesn’t want to bog Paddy down with any more stress, but she’s been lying about how serious it is. You can expect more tears than laughter…”

She added: “We’re doing Bear’s murder trial. We were laughing because Mandy’s been sent down three times in the very court building we’ve used! This trial affects Mandy’s husband, her father-in-law and adopted son – whatever the outcome, she might end up by herself in that home.”
