Moira and Cain’s marriage in crisis as a sad admission is made in Emmerdale spoiler video

Cain and Moira Dingle (Jeff Hordley and Natalie J Robb) have had a rough year in Emmerdale, and it looks as though their marriage could be at risk as a result.

In a new spoiler video, Cain turns to beloved dad Zak for support, speaking candidly to his grave about his concerns for the future of his relationship.

Moira recently returned to the village after a stint behind bars, having been wrongly arrested for murder, and has been finding it difficult to adjust after losing Butler’s Farm.

Meanwhile, Cain has been struggling to deal with his prostate cancer diagnosis ahead of his surgery.

All of these things have put pressure on their relationship, with the couple growing distant.

In a special episode focused solely on Cain and Moira’s relationship, Moira’s concerns for Cain grow as she confides in Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) about the state of their marriage.

Meanwhile, Dr Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) can sense that something isn’t quite right with Cain, and tries to help.

‘Liam comes round on Moira’s advice,’ actor Jeff Hordley explains. ‘She’s said that he needs to talk to him, because he’s gone a bit quiet again. And he tries to coax it out of Cain.’

Liam is taken aback when Cain admits that he wants to cancel his surgery, and immediately shares the news with Moira and Chas.

‘Cain’s saying: “What if I don’t have the operation? That would be a great thing because then things just stay the same”.

‘What we are trying to explore with this particular story, with the prostate cancer, is we’re putting it under the microscope and trying to show all the things that men have to deal with when they’ve got this illness,’ Jeff adds.

‘One of them is the huge life-changing repercussions you can have when you have these operations, which is erectile dysfunction, or you could be incontinent. You don’t know, coming out of this operation, whether that’s going to be a big change for you. So that’s where he’s at with his head.

‘We did some stuff with Macmillan last week and were very fortunate to speak to two guys. It was really quite humbling but I got from those two individuals, and it’s not the same for everyone else, but they were certainly happy that they chose to live and live with the side-effects so that they had a life.’

Jeff goes on to explain that Cain is worried about how the operation will affect his relationship with Moira, especially where intimacy is concerned.

‘We’ve not shied away from these things, because these are really important issues.’

Actress Natalie J Robb reveals that when Cain finally confronts Moira with his fears, she assures him that ‘she’s in love with him and that’s not going to change’
