SHOCKING NEWS!! Coronation Street lines up Maggie and Megan death showdown

Coronation Street fans will see Megan Walsh and Maggie Driscoll’s explosive feud intensify next week, as they face off in a furious showdown. Locked in a showdown on the Weatherfield Precinct balcony, will their argument end in dramatic deaths for both of them?

“She’s managed to stay one step ahead so far, but evil Megan’s luck might be about to run out,” teases our Street source. “If anyone can bring her down, it’s Maggie.”

They add: “But the menacing matriarch has her own secrets to hide, and a shocking act of violence puts her and Megan at risk of being found dead by Betsy…”

Megan’s grooming of schoolboy Will Driscoll scandalised the street, but the toxic teacher proved she doesn’t even care how much distress she’s caused when she goaded Eva Price about getting away with her crime.

Determined to make Megan pay, Eva teams up with Leanne and Toyah Battersby to force the abuser into a confession. Having abducted Megan and bundled her into a van, the vengeful trio march her into the salon flat with the intention of making her admit what she did.

Icy Megan is not in the slightest bit intimidated by this elaborate effort to catch her out, and she taunts the threesome with cruel comments designed to wind them all up – resulting in someone seriously losing their cool…

“Toyah punches Megan in the face,” confirms our mole. “She’s meant to be more level-headed than Leanne and Eva, but Megan really gets under her skin and she just sees red.

“All it does is give Megan the upper hand again and allow her to play the victim, as she could now report Toyah for assault.”

Elsewhere, Maggie is engaging in a heated discussion with former daughter-in-law Melanie. Will’s mum blames Maggie for not doing enough to protect the vulnerable teen from Megan, but that’s not the only beef she’s got with Ma Driscoll…

As the ladies chat furtively in the Rovers’ backyard, incriminating information emerges about the death of Maggie’s late husband, Alan. Has the sinister secret that she pushed him to his death finally been exposed? Or is there something else manipulative Maggie has tried to hide?

Next door at the Barlows’, Megan is thrown out into the ginnel after failing to garner sympathy from dismissive Daniel Osbourne for Toyah’s attack. She wanders past the pub just in time to hear Maggie and Melanie’s juicy conversation – and starts recording it on her phone. What will she do with this evidence against her nemesis?

“Maggie is horrified when she realises what Megan overheard,” reveals our insider. “Once night falls, Maggie tracks her grandson’s abuser down to the precinct to demand she hand over the recording.

“But when Megan confesses a shocking secret of her own, Maggie is completely floored. As if she couldn’t hate Megan any more, her rage boils over…”

The scene is set for a dramatic clash atop the steps to the precinct flats, which has game-changing consequences set to ripple across the cobbles.

As fireworks light up the sky to celebrate Lisa and Carla’s union, whose corpse is discovered? And will the killer get away with it?

Coronation Street has quite the roster of undesirables at the moment.

Chaotic and creepy Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown), deeply devious Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard), murdering meddler Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn), vicious and violent Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) and grotesque groomer, Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) have been destroying lives left and right in Weatherfield, though that’s all about to change.

One of them will finally pay the ultimate price for their various crimes, when they’re murdered on Friday night, with the four preceding episodes focused on each of their stories.

Distinct from Carl, Jodie and Theo, though, are Megan and Maggie, who’s stories are intrinsically linked, with the target of Megan’s grooming and sexual abuse being Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale), Maggie’s grandson.

Upon the family learning what’d been happening under their noses, the two wicked women faced off, and their war of words quickly turned physical. Then-pregnant Megan swung for Maggie, and received a shove for her efforts, resulting in her falling on her stomach. Though she claimed that Maggie had directly caused a miscarriage, Megan had actually had an abortion.

This week sees a hammer blow delivered to the Driscoll family, when Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) reveals that the CPS don’t have enough evidence to formally charge Megan with her sexual abuse of Will and, as Megan plots her escape, the family crumble.

Terrified that her son and Will’s dad, Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker), will do something stupid, Maggie pushes Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) to deal with Megan and she does, backed up by Leanne and Toyah Battersby (Jane Danson and Georgia Taylor).

Their confrontation leads to a tracking device being planted in Megan’s bag, but the emergence of Melanie (Cindy Humphrey), Will’s mum, further fans the flames of trouble for the family and when Megan later terrorises Eva with an admission, her blood turns to lava.

Thursday sees Eva, Leanne and Toyah reunite again and force Megan into the salon flat, determined to extract a full confession from her by hook or crook.

As is often the case with the Battersby sisters, though, things quickly descend into violence, with Megan left with a broken and bloody nose and is promptly booted out into the ginnel…
