🌟Maxie’s back! It’s been four months since Maxie slipped into a coma, and while giving fans her latest health update, Kirsten Storms just teased her return to GH!👇🔥
It’s been four months since both Maxie and her portrayer Kirsten Storms were last in Port Charles. Now, the actress is updating fans on her latest health battle while teasing her return to General Hospital.
Maxie’s Back!
Back in August, Maxie suffered a heart attack during a live segment with Deception on Home & Heart. Maxie later fell into a coma and was brought to a hospital in Boston, where she’s resided ever since. And the kicker? No one knows it was all at the hands of Sidwell (Carlo Rota).
Many of Maxie’s loved ones have been talking about her in recent weeks, starting with Spinelli (Bradford Anderson), who confided in Jason (Steve Burton) about losing hope his Maximista will ever wake up. Mac (John J. York) has also struggled with working at the PCPD and visiting Maxie in Boston, while Nathan (Ryan Paevey) returned to find out his wife was in a coma.
Now, in a lengthy, must-read Instagram post featuring Storms presumably wearing one of her handmade cardigans, the actress gave fans an important health update.
“My last appointment was with a new neurosurgeon in St. Louis. He told me that I am in the ‘gray zone’ for the aneurysm procedure,” she informed fans, explaining that another surgery isn’t urgent at the moment and she’s monitoring her health.
After the good news, Storms finished the post with a simple sentence that got GH fans buzzing. “And maaaaaybe you will be seeing me back in Port Charles soon.”
The comments acted as if it was the best Christmas gift fans could have received. “We NEED you back on GH, but only if you are able to do it and want to,” one follower wrote, while another noted, “Can’t wait to have Maxie back! You have the best storyline set up for you. The kind of storyline you have deserved!”
Storms also received holiday wishes from some of her closest co-stars. “Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, Kirsten. Sending love to you and Harper,” wrote Storms’ on-screen mom Kristina Wagner (Felicia), while Finola Hughes (Anna) chimed in with, “Happy Holidays, Kirsten. Love and miss you.”
Shortly after fans of General Hospital witnessed Maxie Jones testing Deception’s new Youth Truth serum, she stumbled and collapsed on set, shocking her family and friends. The cause remains unknown – was it a heart condition or poisoning? – and while her friends, including Lulu, worried about whether Maxie would fall into a coma , the actress playing Maxie has spoken out about her future on the ABC series.
Kirsten Storms has played Maxie for the past 20 years, since joining the series in 2005 (she took a hiatus from 2011 to 2012), but is currently taking a leave of absence to move to Nashville with her daughter. In a video posted on Instagram in early July, Kristen revealed that ABC had replaced her with a different actress during this time, confirming that Maxie is not dead, and stating that she will return later this year.
“I’m so excited to have Tennessee as my home! I can’t wait to get back to GH once Harper and I settle into our new town,” she captioned the post. “I plan to document as many moments of this new journey on social media as possible. Moving to a place like this has always been my dream; it’s unbelievable that it’s actually happening.”
In the video, Kirsten goes on to share that moving to the South was her lifelong dream, and she is grateful to the show’s executive producer, Frank Valentini, for helping her get the best of both worlds.
“In March, I asked Frank Valentini, our amazing executive producer. I spoke to him about why I wanted to move on and my desire not to leave the show ,” she explained, adding, “Normally, when you apply for a job like this, they might always say something like, ‘Forget it. We’ll terminate your contract if you’re planning on leaving the state.’ But GH didn’t do that. That was fantastic.”
Kirsten has finished filming the final scenes and has gone to Tennessee, but she added that “maybe I’ll be back in December, or maybe November.”
© Disney“I really want to thank GH, the ABC executives, the writers, for agreeing to give me this break, and I know Frank and the producers there understand my reasons, and I’m so grateful they understand and support me ,” she concluded. Addressing rumors about her leaving the long-running series, Kirsten asserted that this was “just my lengthy explanation that I’m taking a break and moving to Tennessee.”

Kirsten Storms is making a move to Tennessee like her fellow “General Hospital” co-star Steve Burton (Jason) has done. Although Nicole Paggi will appear again as Maxie in episodes on July 30 and Aug. 13, Storms will be back on-air the week of Aug. 18 in pre-taped scenes to fulfill her current story. After that she won’t be seen again until, at the earliest, much later in the year.
Storms, who has played Maxie on the historic soap opera since May 2005, was temporarily replaced on the series on July 3 by Paggi, due to scheduling conflicts. Storms took to Instagram Monday to announce her move out of state, and what that meant to her time on “General Hospital.”
“I’m very excited to be making Tennessee my home!” she wrote alongside a video. Adding what her plans are with her 11-year-old daughter, she continued: “I can’t wait to return to ‘Gh,’ once…
