Coronation Street fans have been quick to cast their verdict over Megan Walsh star Beth Nixon as the ‘evil’ character appeared at risk of being killed.

There were dramatic scenes in the ITV soap on Thursday (April 30) night as viewers saw the last episode of the possible victims being lined up to be murdered in shocking scenes to be aired on Friday (May 1) night, with the storyline having been confirmed in a flashforward episode back in February.

Viewers will recall that the actress made her debut last year when Megan Walsh arrived on-screen and ended up staying on the cobbles after Will complained to his family about having to leave his athletics training behind after his dad, Ben Driscoll, surprised partner Eva Price by moving from Hull to Weatherfield to run the Rovers Return

But as fans soon became aware, it wasn’t his training that Will didn’t want to leave, as it was revealed he was in a secret relationship with Megan, with the pair going on to sleep together just as he turned 16. Megan then went on to reveal she was pregnant, telling Will the unborn child was his.

The truth, however, was eventually exposed when Sam Blakeman, who had sussed out what was going on and was being threatened by Megan into silence, ended up in hospital and eventually confessed what he knew to step-mother Leanne Battersby and her sister, Eva.

But Megan has been getting away with her crimes with her and Will sticking to their story, and there’s no other evidence that can prove the relationship between the pair, with Megan claiming to have suffered a miscarriage following a confrontation with Will’s grandmother, Maggie Driscoll, when she actually admitted to a therapist that she’d had an abortion.

Now though, Megan is at risk of being killed as a murder is set to rock the cobbles, with her and Maggie among the possible victims. During Thursday’s (April 30) episode of Corrie, Megan was kidnapped by Eva, Leanne and Toyah Battersby after they dragged her off the street and into the Bistro’s van.

The trio soon set to work interrogating Megan at Leanne’s flat, and Eva could be seen handing Megan her phone and saying: “Face it, the games over. You’re going to text Will, you’re going to tell him that you never loved him. Then you’re going to message Sam and you’re going to apologise for bullying him after that you’re going to make a full confession to the police.”

But Megan only became more sinister as she goaded the three women, leading to Toyah lashing out and hitting her in the nose. A bloodied Megan then escaped the flat and tried to report the assault to off-duty cop, DC Kit Green, who had already been dragged into trying to stop Theo Silverton after his latest confrontation with Todd Grimshaw.

She ended up coming across her ex, Daniel Osbourne, who seemed willing to help her, until she started asking him to take pictures of her injuries to be able to make a report to the police, and he exploded, finally having enough of her playing the victim, and not caring whose lives she ruined in the process.

She then ended up in the Rovers’ backyard, where she revealed she had heard everything Maggie’s former daughter-in-law, Melanie, had said about her being responsible for her husband’s death. While Maggie tried to deny it, Megan goaded her and revealed she’d recorded her conversation with Melanie.

Later, Maggie headed to the precinct to confront Megan and insisted that the recording be deleted. She said that she knew that Megan had lied about losing her baby and that she’d actually had an abortion. But when Megan tried to walk away, Maggie followed her, and a door slammed, leaving viewers to wonder what could happen next.

While Corrie fans think it could be Megan that will be revealed as the murder victim, others were keen to praise newcomer Beth for her portrayal of the groomer. @xxAlicia89 said: “Megan is just pure evil, Beth Nixon really is playing her brilliantly #Corrie.” @mishybabez_ echoed: “Megan is pure evil but how fantastic is Beth Nixon#Corrie.”
