Coronation Street Soap Scoop! Mystery death week

Coronation Street‘s Sarah Barlow makes a worrying discovery next week as she’s caught in the crossfire of a dangerous situation on the cobbles.

The show’s highly-anticipated murder mystery episodes see high-stakes situations unfolding all around Weatherfield – and Sarah may be one to watch as chaos erupts at the Platt house.

Next week’s editions see the five possible victims take centre stage in their own episodes: Theo on Monday, Carl on Tuesday, Jodie on Wednesday and Maggie and Megan on Thursday.

Friday’s episode then sees all of the stories come together as we finally discover who loses their life.

It’s in this episode that Sarah is drawn into drama. Official spoilers for the episode reveal that the Corrie favourite is “caught in the crossfire of a brutal home invasion”.

First-look pictures show Sarah looking unsettled at the Platt house, where a chair has been turned over.

Sarah is also pictured with Jodie Ramsey’s trinket box, which contains many of Jodie’s sinister secrets. Is she about to realise that Shona’s manipulative sister can’t be trusted?

And are those responsible for the mess still lying in wait, or have they already left?

Sarah is linked to two of next week’s big stories, as she has an ongoing feud with Theo after the scaffolder’s abusive behaviour towards Todd Grimshaw. With Theo determined to make life miserable for Todd and his loved ones, could he cross paths with Sarah again?

Sarah could also be caught up in Jodie’s ongoing troubles, as the sly newcomer brings danger to the cobbles next week when some dodgy guys arrive looking for the hard drive that she stole.

Teasing next week’s episodes, Corrie producer Kate Brooks recently told us: “For the murder week itself, we deliberately intended to make each episode feel like a mini movie. The hook is that we still don’t know who’s been killed, which enables a bit of levity – especially in Jodie’s episode, which is really funny.

“David is really drunk and it’s very laugh-out-loud, side-splittingly funny because Jack [P Shepherd, who plays David] is amazing.

“Sally and Tim are great too. There are all sorts of shenanigans going on – and we do dip back into the wedding a little bit. That gave us a chance to follow different themes and inject levity and humour.

“There are great writers on all the episodes, who gave it that real Corrie feel, while it still felt big and bold and different to what we’ve done before. There’s a great soundtrack too – the opening of every episode is a banger!”
