The DiMera Villain Has Been Written Into a Corner

It doesn’t take much to set Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) off into revenge mode, especially if someone has wronged her daughter, Rachel (Lorelei Olivia Mote). That’s exactly what caused Kristen to go on her latest warpath, putting Johnny (Carson Boatman) and Sophia (Rachel Boyd) in harm’s way.

While we love to see Kristen go off the rails because it means powerhouse performances by Haiduk, this time, though, the character went way too far. It was unnecessary for Kristen to harm Johnny to seek revenge on EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) for the part he played in Rachel’s shooting him.

Johnny did nothing to Kristen or Rachel; he was simply collateral damage. The DiMera family is messy, but this was beyond the usual Kristen evil-villain antics.

Adding more fuel to Kristen’s latest scheme, crossing even a DiMera line is her revenge on Sophia. We all knew that Kristen was using Sophia only to get back at her for involving Rachel in her plot to take down Holly (Ashley Puzemis).

Kristen blamed Sophia for Rachel’s return to Bayview. Convincing Sophia to write a suicide note was diabolical, and Kristen didn’t stop there. In true Kristen fashion, she cleaned up her loose ends by knocking Sophia out and throwing her into the river.

Now, everyone thinks Sophia killed herself after she tried to kill Johnny. Kristen will move on to whatever she plans to do next to hurt EJ. The problem is that the truth always comes out in Salem, and Kristen is living on borrowed time.

When EJ finds out Kristen played a part in Johnny nearly dying, he will go to great lengths to silence her forever. That is, if the Salem PD doesn’t find out what she did to Sophia and Johnny first. Yes, we know the Salem PD isn’t the best at solving crimes.

The latest preview video for DAYS teased that Sophia showed up very much alive, shocking Kristen. It could be a dream this time around, but the odds of Sophia really being dead are slim to none.

Haiduk has previously spoken out about her future with DAYS now that she’s back on The Young and the Restless as Patty. Sadly, the actress confirmed that Kristen has been put on ice again, which means the character will undoubtedly face the music for her actions at some point this year.

Sophia’s attempt to kill Johnny is raising a lot of questions, and Kristen is finding herself in the hot seat! Plus, what’s brought Tony and Anna back to Salem, and is Sophia dead or alive, as teased in the latest Days of Our Lives preview?

So Many Questions

Last week, Brady, Jada, and Amy Choi discovered Sophia had run off, but not before leaving a suicide note behind. Oh, and attempting to kill Johnny! But things took a dark turn for Sophia, as instead of faking her death as she had planned with Kristen, the DiMera clobbered her over the back of the head with a rock to punish her for using Rachel the way she did. Yup, poor Sophia was killed!

Next week, Jada brings Amy Choi into the Salem PD to break the news that the blood they found may be a match for Sophia. It might be? Perhaps the Salem PD should find out if it is before breaking such news to a parent!

Elsewhere, Joy’s arrival in Salem with her and Alex’s daughter, Kelsey, was a big shock to daddy Alex and step-mom Stephanie! Coming up, Joy tells Alex that she’s decided to stay in Salem this time. Stephanie should probably worry about Joy moving in on her husband, especially seeing how much Alex wants to start a family!

Ghosts Of the Past

Also teased in the promo, at least one person thinks Kristen’s been up to no good, as she pretends to be insulted when EJ questions her involvement with the attempt on Johnny’s life.
