SINCE last June, the latest episodes of Coronation Street have dropped on ITVX and YouTube from 7am each morning.
However, today there was no morning release for the new episode – here’s why that was the case.
Why isn’t Coronation Street on ITVX and YouTube today?
Fans of the soap were left puzzled when they saw no new episode had been released to ITVX or YouTube on Friday morning.
However, there was a specific reason behind the change in schedule…
It’s already been revealed that tonight’s episode will see one of the five Weaterfield villains killed off by an unknown culprit.
The potential victims are Theo Silverton, Megan Walsh, Maggie Driscoll, Jodie Ramsey and Carl Webster – with viewers desperate to know whose time on the show has come to an end.

For that reason, ITV decided against airing an early release, opting to have everyone witness the dramatic reveal at the same time.
This helps guarantee there will be no spoilers on social media, which would ruin the twist for those opting to watch the show later on telly.
It wouldn’t be the first time an early release has been scrapped.
Many soaps make the same decision whenever there’s a big twist or jaw-dropping moment set to take place.
The longest-running British soap opera will air tonight – it was only the early premiere of the show that was cancelled.
It will be on at 8:30pm on both ITV and ITVX.
So make sure you’re tuned in, as it will be a shocking discovery that the entire fanbase of the show will be experiencing “live” together!
