A LEGENDARY EASTENDERS ICON IS OFFICIALLY CROSSING OVER TO THE COBBLES FOR A STORYLINE THAT WILL CHANGE TYRONE’S LIFE FOREVER 🎭✨🏠

Ian Burfield is set to add another soap to his belt as he joins the cast of Coronation Street. The actor, who has previously appeared in EastEnders as DCI Peter Arthurs and The Bill, will reportedly star as Tyrone Dobbs’s estranged father, Ross, in the ITV soap.

As per The Sun, the actor, who has played various police officers during his time in Walford, will soon set foot on the cobbles of Weatherfield for a storyline in which Tyrone reunites with his father after several years of estrangement.

It was reported earlier this week that the ITV soap was looking to bring in a new arc for Tyrone, with producer Kate Brooks teasing that it would be an “explosive” family reunion amid Cassie Plummer’s impending exit.

Coronation Street Soap Scoop! Shock death aftermath “Tyrone’s dad makes an appearance in the show. Needless to say, he comes with quite a bit of drama,” teased Brooks. “It’s going to cause quite a lot of friction within that family, obviously with Cassie’s history.”

“As you know, Cassie’s leaving us, and so it will contribute to her exit, which is going to be massive and quite explosive. It’ll be full of all the twists and turns that you can come to expect from an exit story.”

“He comes into the world of Fiz and Tyrone. Tyrone’s in the mindset of: ‘I’m in my 40’s, I’ve survived this long without a dad!’ But the dad is very keen to connect with Tyrone,” continued the producer.

“It’s not long before he makes eyes at one of the residents – maybe a relationship starts there. It really shines a spotlight on Fiz and Tyrone as a couple and that family dynamic. Cassie is, needless to say, not happy that this guy has turned back up!”

In addition to his roles in The Bill and EastEnders, Burfield has had part in Holby City and Doctors as well as an appearance in BBC’s Merlin.
