Next week on EastEnders, Grant Mitchell reunites with his siblings, Phil sends alarm bells ringing, and Nigel passes away.

1. Grant Mitchell returns to Walford

When a car speeds past Sam and Mark, they immediately spot that it’s Grant Mitchell behind the wheel.
With Grant back in Albert Square, Mark explains to his dad that Phil is struggling and refusing to visit Nigel.
Grant takes his own trip to see Nigel and is stunned by just how unwell his old friend is.
With Grant furious that Phil hadn’t informed him sooner, will the two brothers come to blows?

2. Phil sparks concern

Reunited, Sam and Grant share an emotional heart-to-heart. Afterwards, Sam, Grant and Phil meet up for a discussion – the first time they have all been together in over 20 years.
However, the meeting goes awry when Phil kicks Sam and Mark out of his house, leading Sam to realise that Grant is the only person who can help his brother out of his worrying state of mind.
Elsewhere, Ravi begins therapy at the mental health unit after being diagnosed with complex PTSD.
3. Julie stops Nigel’s treatment

Still in a bad way, Phil is convinced that Nigel, Julie and the rest of the family no longer need him.
Meanwhile, Julie decides to prioritise Nigel’s comfort and puts a stop to his treatment, given that he is showing no signs of improvement.
Julie then brings Grant up to date, while Billy tries to convince Phil to go and see Nigel.
But after Phil throws Billy out, can anyone get through to him?
4. Grant confronts Phil

With Grant at his bedside, Nigel unexpectedly wakes up and asks for something from his past.
After returning from the care home, Grant has a strong word with his brother.
Later, Billy and Mark visit Phil to try to make him see sense, but they discover his house is empty.

5. Max and Cindy start dating

Having agreed to go on a date with Max, Cindy has no real intention of showing up. However, the bar owner quickly changes her mind when she spots Max chatting with Linda. Fuelled by jealousy, Cindy heads to Knight Fusion to meet Max after all.
Later in the week, Max and Cindy continue to see each other on the sly, but are nearly caught out by Lauren. As a result of their close call, the two lovebirds agree to go public with their relationship when the time is right.
How soon will that be?
6. Grant has a big decision to make

With Phil still missing, Grant heads to a beach, believing his brother to be there.
But on the approach, Grant receives a call from Julie, who begs him to return to Walford as Nigel hasn’t got long left to live.

Will Grant turn back or continue searching for Phil?
7. Phil and Grant get emotional

At the beach, Grant pleads with his brother to come with him to bid farewell to Nigel. However, Phil refuses to budge until he finds something.
The two brothers share an emotional and intense exchange, before they rush back to try and see Nigel in time.
After facing setbacks on their route back, will Nigel slip away before they get there?
8. Nigel passes away

After Julie and other Walford residents say their goodbyes, Nigel manages to hold on. Thankfully, Phil arrives just in time to bid farewell to his best friend.
Later in the week, the Albert Square locals mourn the untimely loss of Nigel, before deciding to do something special for Julie and Phil.
When the grieving pair arrive home, they are welcomed by their neighbours, who announce their plans to remember Nigel. Julie is astounded by how quickly the community has rallied together, while Phil battles with his emotions.
As Grant and Linda worry for Phil, how will he deal with his heartbreak over Nigel?
