ANGER ERUPTS! Mandy’s shocking idea leaves Paddy disgusted in Emmerdale – and he storms out

Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) is still facing the absolutely terrifying prospect of going to prison next week in Emmerdale, and some clumsy words from Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) make everything worse.

From the moment Paddy discovered that his dad, Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards), had become the victim of Celia Daniels’ (Jaye Griffiths) hideous human trafficking and modern slavery operation, his life has been hellish.

With Celia and her son, Ray Walters (Joe Absolom), also exploiting his pseudo-adopted son, Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) in their criminal enterprise, Paddy felt the full force of the repercussions from the racket, and when he tried to save Dylan from being murdered by Ray, he almost lost his own life.

Bear intervened and accidentally killed Ray, an act that changed the course of all their lives forever when Paddy and Dylan decided to hide Ray’s body, hoping to avoid Bear facing any trouble for offing the wrong’un.

Bear, though, suffering deep, psychological wounds from the grooming he endured by Ray and the hideous conditions he lived in as a slave, was unable to contain his guilt and confessed all.

Determined to save his dad, though, Paddy, alongside Dylan, elected to confess to his part in the mess, resulting in them both being charged with perverting the course of justice.

Paddy’s since been staring down a prison sentence with increasing anxiety, while also terrified for his dad, who’s being held in custody on remand.

His mental health began to suffer, and, after realising the similarities between his current situation and the time he considered ending his own life due to his depression, he turned to his bestie, Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) for help. Their later discovery of Ray’s bank statements, managed to free Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb), but has done nothing but make Bear look more guilty.

The statements they found showed him stashing his and Celia’s dirty money in a bank account in Bear’s name and has cast an entirely different light on the situation, with Bear now being looked at as an accomplice in the crime empire.

Next week sees Paddy’s daughter, Eve Dingle (Bella James) deeply distraught about the gossip surrounding her dad and his impending court case, causing Paddy to realise that he needs to explain what’s going on to her.

Deeply distressed, Paddy tells Eve that he could well be going to prison as a result of helping her grandad, and they both crumble as she begs her daddy not to leave her.

Mandy, seeing Paddy in such pain floats the idea that maybe Paddy should let Bear take the blame in court and extricate himself from all the mess, leaving Paddy’s jaw hanging. Absolutely disgusted by what she’s suggested, Paddy storms away.

Though they later reconcile, and Mandy pledges that she’ll stand by Paddy’s side whatever the future may hold, it’s clear that Paddy’s terrified with what may come.

But what does the future hold? Will the spectre of Celia and Ray continue to destroy his life? Will he, Bear and Dylan be sent to prison and have to wave goodbye to the village for God-knows-how-long?

It’s not currently looking good for everybody’s favourite vet…
