Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) finally delivers her baby next week in Emmerdale, though it could cost her her life.

After being rescued by Ross Barton (Michael Parr) when Mackenzie Boyd’s (Lawrence Robb) car breaks down and her waters break, the trio rush to the hospital, but when they’re trapped in a broken down lift, things get terrifying.

As Mack’s bunker trauma resurfaces, Ross is forced to deliver the baby, but with Charity badly bleeding, will she make it out of the lift alive?

Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) remains at the non-existent mercy of Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) after she makes strides in invading his home life after poisoning his work life. When Jacob tells the hospital’s HR department of her bullying, has he signed his career’s death warrant?

Elsewhere, Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) concocts a scheme to protect April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan), Moira Dingle’s (Natalie J Robb) plan to spend some intimate time with Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) badly backfires and Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah) faces trial by fire as he looks to resume a relationship with Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor Draper).

That’s enough with the hype, isn’t it? Shall we cut to the main event? Let’s do it…

Doctor Todd speaks to Jacob in Emmerdale
Jacob is struggling to handle the pressure (Picture: Danielle Baguley/ITV)

Jacob is crumbling under the pressure of Dr. Todd’s bullying at work, the fact that she’s moved into the village and that he’s been called as a witness at Bear Wolf’s (Joshua Richards) trial. Finally opening up, he tells Ross about his torment at the hands of Dr. Todd, and Ross suggests confronting her. After attempting to talk to her, he raises a formal complaint with the hospital regarding her conduct.

Moira plans some time alone for herself and Cain, but when Lydia and Sam Dingle (Karen Blick and James Hooton) playfully inform him, he’s wounded, the pressure to perform sexually so soon after his operation and the prospect of Moira sharing that with the family causing him to storm away.

Elsewhere, Belle is giddy about her date with Kammy, and Paddy Kirk’s (Dominic Brunt) horrified to learn that Bear has been placed in solitary confinement after a fight with another prisoner.

Charity has pulled out all of the stops for Sarah Sugden’s (Katie Hill) baby shower, but when a problem with the cake results in her and Mack needing to dash out for another, they’re felled when their car breaks down. When her waters break, they’re saved by a passing Ross, and things get worse when the three are trapped in a broken-down lift and Charity’s labour intensifies.

Jacob is stricken with anxiety when a work mate warns him that reporting a doctor is professional suicide, and it’s made worse when Dr. Todd spots him with the HR representative.

Meanwhile, Kammy is a bag of nerves at the prospect of attending a Dingle party.

All roads lead to the hospital, as Sarah’s confused to arrive and learn there’s no record of Charity arriving, while Mack’s trauma is triggered at being trapped in the lift after his captivity at the hands of John in the bunker, and Jacob opens up about the bullying he’s suffered at the hands of Dr. Todd.

Sarah’s terrified when a midwife gets an emergency call about a woman in labour trapped in a lift, and is forced to direct Ross and Mack on how to safely deliver the baby, while Jacob is shaken at the volume of missed calls he received while in the meeting.

Ross delivers the baby safely, but his joy turns to horror as he sees a pool of blood growing around Charity.
