LIZ BACK? I’m A Celeb’s Beverley Callard reveals future on Coronation Street after on-screen husband Jim was killed off
I’M A CELEB’S Beverley Callard has revealed her future on Coronation Street after her on-screen husband Jim was killed off in the soap.
As Liz McDonald, the actress handled huge storylines including an abusive marriage, the loss of a child and many bust-ups as landlady of the Rovers Return — but will she back again?

Fiery Liz first arrived on the cobbles in 1989 and remained a main character on and off until her departure in 2020.
Last month, Liz’s estranged husband Jim McDonald, played by Charlie Lawson, died from pneumonia off-screen with their son Steve (Simon Gregson) receiving thenews.
Ben Driscoll was then revealed as his secret love child with Maggie Driscoll following an affair in the late 1970s.
Steve was furious when he found out because Jim would have been married to his mum Liz at the time.

Now, actress Beverley, 69, has revealed if she’ll return to her role as the feisty matriarch of the family.
Speaking through to the Daily Star, Beverley explained: “I can’t now because I’m filming something else but I think you should never say never.
“I loved my time there, you don’t stay in something for 32 years if you didn’t love it, but I think the workload and the way it’s filmed, certainly when you’re in a big storyline, you’re there all day, every day so I don’t think I’d want that again to that extent.
“I think they have great writers on the show and great actors but I just felt the stories were not there for Liz anymore but I’d never say never.”
Beverley, who is currently on our television screens taking part in I’m A Celebrity… South Africa, also said she thought the soap bosses were “crazy” to kill off her on-screen husband.
She said: “Charlie is one of the best male actors I have ever worked with. What you see is what you get.
“He doesn’t suffer fools, he’s brutally honest but he’s wonderful and I think they’re crazy for killing Jim McDonald off.
“I think it’s a shame that opportunity will no longer exist.”
She added: “Coronation Street is the longest-running television programme in the world. I was so proud to be a part of it.”
Beverly is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer and documenting her journey on social media with fans.

However, her current I’m A Celeb All Stars appearance left fans concerned as many didn’t know the new series was filmed last year in South Africa and isn’t live.
In the first episode of I’m a Celebrity South Africa., the Coronation Street legend was left shocked when David Hayes, 45, pushed for her to be sent to Savannah Scrub.
Savannah Scrub was the more basic of the two camps, and viewers were not impressed by his behaviour.
After days of meals of rice and beans and being more exposed to the elements while in camp, the Savannah Scrub team finally reunited with main camp on the show.
Beverley was seen telling David: “Oh you’ve had some stick” while Adam Thomas added: “Oh Beverley’s not happy with you mate.”
As the camp laughed, Beverley said: “He was mean to me. I was going ‘I’m gonna chin him when we get in there!’”
But speaking exclusively to The Sun Online, Beverley now wishes she had said more.
She explained: “When I was watching it last night — I actually thought I was too easy on him. I did.
“I mean, you’ve got to wait and see what happens, but I actually thought I was too easy on him when I first got back into main camp.
“I did say a lot more than that — it was edited out — but I think I was too easy on him when we first met again.”

Beverley added, in the chat with WhichBingo: “I was disappointed as well, because I was a fan of his.
“Yeah, so it’s one of those, isn’t it? I guess you wouldn’t say he’d be one of your heroes, but obviously he’s someone you enjoyed watching as an athlete, and I really admired him.”
