OMG SHOCKING!! No way back for Maggie in Coronation Street amid Driscolls family nightmare

The Driscolls have fallen apart in Coronation Street.

Once a strong unit, the clan is seriously struggling to move forward after the exposure of two game-changing secrets.

Everything changed a few weeks ago when Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) revealed that Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) had been sexually abusing Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale).

Amid the fact Will is in denial and the family cannot prove something inappropriate happened between him and Megan, they’re also trying to deal with the fact none of them suspected something bad was going on.

The other secret that has knocked Team Driscoll for six is the fact Ben Driscoll’s (Aaron McCusker) father is actually Jim McDonald, making him Steve McDonald’s (Simon Gregson) brother. Ben spent most of his life unaware of this connection, and is finding it difficult to reconnect with mum Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn) over the betrayal.

‘He’s stunned and he’s also livid, made worse by the fact he can’t go back and talk to the man who he always thought was his dad because he’s dead’, actor Aaron McCusker said, discussing the moment Ben discovered the truth.

‘That makes it much more tough to take because he isn’t able to talk about it and he was very close to Alan. He also finds out that Alan knew he wasn’t Ben’s dad and still stuck by Maggie and that endears him to Alan even more. He has a huge argument with Maggie then he goes straight out to the bar and gets stuck into the whiskeys.

‘His mum has lied to him again and this doesn’t come long after the fact that she tried to ruin Christmas Day with the whole baby thing. Ben just wonders when are the lies going to stop.’

It’s a lot, and given the fact this family run the Rovers Return, they really need to be on the same page.

Building bridges is at the forefront of Eva Price’s (Catherine Tyldesley) mind next week, as she calls Ben, Will, Maggie and Ollie Driscoll (Raphael Akuwudike) to the Bistro to try and get things sorted out.

When Steve and Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) enter, Ben invites them to sit down, pointing out they’re family too.

In the week, things appear to get worse for the clan as Eva awkwardly reveals to Maggie that she needs to cancel her coffee morning with her pals, because she’s arranged a pamper session for Susie and her mates.

When Ben ends up taking Eva’s side, Maggie’s deeply hurt.

With the Driscolls being unable to actually communicate unless they’re trading insults, how will the family move forward?
