Coronation Street fans think two people will end up dead as a murder victim is set to be revealed after a week’s worth of drama in Weatherfield.

Fans will recall that it was confirmed back in February that a death would rock the cobbles this month in a flashforward episode of the ITV soap, in which Betsy Swain was revealed as the one to make the horror discovery.

In the scenes, which took viewers to April 23, Betsy was seen being interviewed by detectives about finding the dead body of someone she knows, during which she explained she had been at the wedding of her mum, Lisa Swain, and Carla Connor and was heading into town when she made the shocking discovery.

As the episode returned to the present day, Corrie viewers started to see how the behaviour of the characters could lead to their possible death, with Theo Silverton, Megan Walsh, Maggie Driscoll, Jodie Ramsey and Carl Webster confirmed as the five potential victims

Since then, viewers have seen Lisa and Carla’s wedding day take place last week, and as the celebrations wound down, the newlyweds were alone in Underworld when a scream was heard. While it caught Lisa’s attention, new wife Carla dismissed her concern that it was ‘just foxes’.

But as Corrie fans know, it was actually Betsy’s cry as she made her horror discovery. The victim, however, wasn’t revealed, and this week viewers have been revisiting the same day, each episode seen from the perspective of a different potential victim.

On Thursday (April 30) night, viewers saw the start of what looks set to be a dramatic showdown between Megan and Maggie, ending a week of speculation about who will be killed, with the nail-biting wait getting underway for the big reveal during Friday (May 1) night’s episode.

Casting their last verdicts after seeing the stories of each possible victim, Corrie fans seem to think that more than one of the five villains will be in mortal peril as the week draws to a close.

A dramatic week on the cobbles is fast approaching in Coronation Street, with a stylistic new trailer showing the five potential murder victims walking towards George Shuttleworth’s (Tony Maudsley) funeral parlour.

The countdown is on, and it won’t be long before we find out who meets their maker in the aftermath of Carla Connor (Alison King) and Lisa Swain’s (Vicky Myers) wedding day.

As viewers will recall, the latest non-linear storytelling device saw one episode in February flash-forward to April, and the point in which Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) discovered a body.

She told Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) that she knew the victim – meaning that one of her neighbours had met with the Grim Reaper.

Paedophile Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon), meddling grandmother Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn), abusive Theo Silverton (James Cartwright), enigma Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances Brown) and scheming Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) were revealed as those at risk, but who will die?

And even more importantly, which resident will be left with blood on their hands? Let’s be real, there’s a long line of Weatherfield locals who would be happy to see them depart.

In the new promo, which has been directed by Suri Krishnamma – who has worked on Corrie for the last decade – sees the five taking a slow stroll down the famed cobbles, dressed in funeral attire.

Who will die, and who will be left with blood on their hands?

The group then turn the corner into Victoria Street and towards George, who is stood outside of the undertakers and loading a question mark shaped floral arrangement into the back of a hearse. He takes a quick glance towards the five, before carrying on his duties.

While Swarla’s wedding will take place next week, we won’t actually find out who Betsy found dead until seven days later. A special week of standalone episodes will take the viewer back to the day of the ceremony, each following an individual story strand.
