Is it her fault that his grandson is the kind of idiot who commits to publishing a book without reading it, or having the editors he pays good money to edit it do their jobs? Kate has a point. Which is why she has no reason to lie to Roman. And yet, Kate does so, anyway.
Johnny Takes Control as Chanel’s Health Becomes a Real Threat
Johnny wasn’t thrilled when Chanel (Raven Bowens) accidentally became pregnant against medical advice, but then he came around and got excited about it.
Now, however, Johnny is worried that his wife’s cancer has come back. So he decides it’s up to him to decide what to do about it.
Sophia Turns the Tables on Tate
Tate (Leo Howard) is determined to prove that Sophia (Rachel Boyd) drugged Holly (Ashley Puzemis) with her antipsychotics. Except he has no evidence.
Tate managed to get his hands on Sophia’s fingerprints and hopes they will be enough to get the job done. But Sophia isn’t just smarter than Tate. Sophia now has Kristen (Stacey Haiduk) in her corner.

Hump Day in Salem means that Marlena presses Xander, Kate risks her marriage by lying to Roman, and Tate and Sophia, as they tend to do, clash. “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” is just never gonna be their theme song.
Meanwhile, Kristen and Lani seize the opportunity to reconnect, and Chanel’s health remains Johnny’s foremost concern. Sarah may want to prescribe him some deep breathing exercises.” Ivy continues pushing for her niece to be with R.J., and at some point, Dylan will receive a phone call that sends a chill down her spine.
Days of our Lives revealed that Xander and Kate are working together to bring down DiMera, and we don’t hate it. These two ooze juicy soap entertainment, even if their plan is messy and will have lasting ramifications.
Xander (Paul Telfer) and Kate (Lauren Koslow) working together was not on our 2026 bingo card, but we are so here for it. Just watching these two outcasts and slightly reformed villains plot to take down DiMera was beyond enjoyable.
DAYS, like all soaps, has so much drama. Even though Kate and Xander were plotting chaos, their banter was fun. They seriously make good allies that we never thought of putting together as a scheming duo.
The downside, though, is their plan to crush DiMera centers on Johnny (Carson Boatman, who recently dropped a new song), which means Kate’s going to ruffle some feathers. Roman (Josh Taylor), for one, won’t be thrilled with his wife using his grandson.
One fan on X was frustrated that Roman will be caught up in Kate’s plan and that she has no regard for him. “Roman has been nothing but good to Kate over the years.”
Speaking of using people, Johnny isn’t the only family member who’s in Kate’s web of lies. Kate and Xander are using Ari (Marissa Reyes) as a spy inside DiMera as part of their plot, but Kate’s great-granddaughter is in the dark.
When the truth comes out, Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) will be on the warpath, and Roman will have another reason to be furious with his wife. Will (Chandler Massey) will no doubt have words for his grandmother, too, for using his daughter in that way.
The fallout is just another reason why having Xander and Kate in cahoots is pure genius to us. These two are known for doing exactly what they want, regardless of the consequences, and it’s so entertaining.
