Coronation Street will soon be saying goodbye to Lou Michaelis, even though she only recently made her return to the ITV soap. Lou was introduced last year as part of a ‘neighbours from hell’ storyline, which took some dark turns and ended up with Lou in prison and Tim and Sally Metcalfe looking after their kids.
Lou has started appearing again on the show, being assigned to look after Debbie Webster in prison and currently forming an unlikely friendship with her.
But we won’t be seeing her for long, as Lou actor Farrel Hegarty did an interview with the Girlfriend Material podcast earlier this month and revealed that she’s all done and dusted with her current run.
“I’m out of the show now”, she said. “I’ve stopped filming.
“I came back in Corrie for, like, a short stint. I was [initially] in it for six months and I came back because I’m in prison. She’s in prison. She’s not a good girl.”

That means that we won’t be seeing Lou for much longer, but we do know that we’ll be seeing plenty more of her before her exit airs.
Now she’s wrapped up on Corrie again, Hegarty has been keeping herself busy with her popular comedy posts on social media.
Elsewhere in the interview, the actor talked about her sexuality, her dating history and why she thinks that sitting down to eat dinner properly at the end of the day is one of her favourite things.
