SHOCKING NEWS!!! Coronation Street reveals Glenda will “come into her own” amid Todd and Theo story

Coronation Street star Jodie Prenger has exclusively revealed to Inside Soap that Glenda Shuttleworth will play an important role as Todd Grimshaw navigates his future. Glenda has recently discovered that Todd is suffering domestic abuse at the hands of his husband, Theo Silverton.

Glenda’s brother, George, was the first to uncover Theo’s true colours, leading him to break the news to Todd’s loved ones, including Glenda, Christina, Summer and Sarah.

“It’s very special because it’s one of those things where you’re in a scene with someone and you marvel at what they put out there,” shares Jodie, who first appeared in Coronation Street in 2022.

“I text Tony Maudsley [who plays George] after the scene when George went in with a bag for Todd; he really choked me. It’s been beautifully played out and brilliantly acted.”

In upcoming scenes, Todd is set to report Theo to the police, after a violent altercation leaves him covered in blood. It’s yet to be seen whether Theo will be arrested for his crimes, but either way, Todd is guaranteed to need emotional support from his inner circle.

“Glenda loves to support and help however she can,” Jodie tells us. “Whether it works out brilliantly or for the worse, she tries her best. So, I think she will come into her own with that, for those she loves and those around her.”

Speaking of Glenda’s compassionate nature, the Rovers barmaid has formed plenty of female friendships on the Street, notably with Debbie Webster, who is currently battling dementia.

“Glenda really gets on with Debbie,” smiles Jodie. “A couple of years ago, there was a bit of, ‘Oh, I see you and you see me,’ but they really get on now. The same with Bernie, and she’s warmed to Christina.

“Glenda and Mary have had brilliant times too,” she adds. “Glenda has a pocket of friendship in everyone, but she really gets on with Debbie.”

In terms of romance, Glenda is yet to find ‘the one,’ with her last relationship with Michael Bailey fizzling out within a month. But now that Jodie has signed a new one-year contract with Coronation Street, could that be about to change?

“There was talk of Glenda having a bit of a dalliance,” the actor teases. “We will see…”
