Former Emmerdale star Adele Silva, who played Kelly Windsor between 1993 and 2000 and for a handful of times until 2011, has shared her dream about returning to the world of soap, but would rather join a rival show rather than return to the Dales.

While the actor told The Sun that “absolutely yes”, she would return to Emmerdale, but “if I’m honest, I’d love to do EastEnders.

“I’ve lost count of the number of people who’ve said to me over the years, ‘Oh, you’d be ideal for EastEnders.'”

She continued: “I’m from Streatham in South London, so for someone like me to have ended up joining a Northern farming community soap was always a bit surreal — though there was logic behind it at the time.

“Viewing figures in the South were flagging, so the network asked Emmerdale to bring in a London family.”

“But EastEnders would genuinely be a dream. I grew up in a household where at 7:30 everything went quiet because Mum was watching.

“Never say never — I’m going to put that out there and manifest it.”

Silva also made a brief appearance in Hollyoaks in 2025, playing a relative of Peri Lomax who showed an interest in adopting baby Steph Cunningham-Lomax, although Peri didn’t go through with it.

In more recent years, she has turned her attention to running her in-person and online acting workshop business.

She also has IMDb credits as a casting assistant on Death in Paradise, Malory Towers, Curfew and Geek Girl.
