Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has opened up about juggling work and parenting as she made a ‘quite hard’ admission.
The Blackpool-born actress is best known for playing Bethany Platt in the ITV soap, making her debut on the cobbles back in 2015. After leaving in 2020, Lucy has been back entertaining Corrie fans since 2023.
Away from the limelight, Lucy revealed in November last year that she and her boyfriend Ryan Ledson are sent to walk down the aisle after she accepted his proposal. The pair went public with their relationship in June 2021.
The actress welcomed a boy called Sonny in 2023, followed by a daughter, Nancy, in 2025, with her Huddersfield Town footballer fiancé, Ryan Ledson, 29. Lucy has now opened up in a new interview with The Mirror about her family life.
“They’re great, but they’re such a handful — especially Sonny at the moment. He’s got the terrible twos a little bit late, I’d say… I think going from zero to one was easier.

“I think it’s the age gap as well — Sonny was still a baby when I had Nancy, and while it’s so lovely and seeing how they interact now, the juggle of having a toddler, a baby and work is quite hard,” she said.
Lucy added: “As they say, it takes a village and luckily, we have a village. I know we’re privileged — not everybody gets that luxury. My mum and Ryan’s mum help out a lot. We take the help where we can get it!”
One thing she’s learned about being a mum is the amount of things she has to plan in advance due to having children at home. She explained: “I did have a few times when I needed to go and get some milk and I realised, ‘I need to take you with me, you can’t stay here on your own!’ It gets easier because you get your groove, but that takes getting used to…
“Well-meaning relatives might say in the early days and months, ‘You need to leave the house. Take him or her for a walk!’ There would be days where I actually didn’t want to — and that’s totally fine. You just have to take every day as it comes.
“You grieve that little section of life. I remember when Sonny turned four weeks old, I hysterically sobbed because I was like, ‘Oh no, he’s a month old, and now he’s three!’ It goes so quickly — you’ve just got to enjoy every stage because you’ll never get that version of them again.”
Asked about how she and Ryan manage their schedules, she stated: “It’s hard, because I’ve had a full week of parenting, most times solo, then at the weekend he’s away playing football. He stays away every Friday. His schedule changes all the time. It’s a huge juggle, but we manage.”
She later noted: “I can be doing 12-hour days, so especially if you are in the midst of a storyline that’s quite intense, it can be exhausting, but I love it and I love the people there. It’s an iconic place to work, so I’m very lucky.”
