Coronation Street Soap Scoop! Todd reports Theo

Coronation Street will confirm the fate of Roy Cropper following the devastating arson of Roy’s Rolls, which saw Jodie Ramsey and Mal Roper frantically attempt to save the beloved character after he was caught in the middle. hospital scene with visitors around a patient

Sunday’s (12 April) episode of the ITV soap saw the villainous Mal make his worst move yet in his ongoing obsession with Bernie Winter-Alahan, with the schemer dousing the place in petrol in a bid to enact revenge.

After he was told by Jodie that Roy was upstairs, the pair rushed to get him out. Mal tried to make a daring escape from Weatherfield, but Kit Green arrested him for his crimes while Bernie felt some guilt over what had happened.

Today’s follow-up instalment sees Bernie visit Roy in hospital, though she will soon be pressed by Lisa Swain about what she knows about Mal. Carla Connor, meanwhile, will tell Roy that he can stay with her and Lisa after he recovers.

Lisa grills Kit about the situation involving Mal, which has seen him be (rightfully) accused of assault. He remarks that the villain has a “vendetta” against anybody who is associated with Bernie. Lisa, however, will not believe a word her colleague says.

Roy is discharged from hospital, and heads to Carla and Lisa’s as he attempts to rebuild his life following the loss of his flat. Unfortunately for him, little could be recovered from the flat following the fire, though the café is said to be mostly intact.

Later on, Kit expresses worry to Sarah about the pressure he’s facing from Lisa, though their conversation is interrupted as a bloodied Todd Grimshaw rings the buzzer for the flat after an altercation with his abusive husband, Theo Silverton.

While Kit appears to be in the clear for now, it could backfire for him if Lisa learns that Mal is telling the truth about the assault. Though the police officer told Sarah that Mal was looking at prison time, his career could be in jeopardy if the truth comes out.

Jodie, meanwhile, was welcomed by Carla and Lisa after her actions initially forced Mal out of town, but they are unaware that the Weatherfield newcomer actually harbours a manipulative streak. Will they regret getting too close?

The aftermath of the devastating fire continues to send shockwaves through Weatherfield, as Roy Cropper begins the long and emotional journey toward recovery. Though physically stable after his terrifying ordeal, the psychological scars run far deeper than anyone initially expected. Back at Carla and Lisa’s flat, Roy struggles to adjust, clearly haunted by flashes of the fire and the overwhelming sense of loss that now defines his reality.

Carla does her best to reassure him, gently encouraging him to focus on what remains rather than what has been destroyed. She reminds Roy that Roy’s Rolls can be rebuilt, that the community still needs him, and that he is far from alone. Lisa, however, takes a more pragmatic approach, quietly observing Roy’s behavior and growing increasingly concerned that he may be suppressing the full extent of his trauma. Late at night, when Roy believes everyone else is asleep, he is seen pacing the living room, replaying the events over and over in his mind — a clear sign that recovery won’t be straightforward.

Meanwhile, Bernie finds herself spiraling under the weight of guilt. Although Mal’s actions were entirely his own, she can’t shake the feeling that she somehow set everything in motion. Her visit to Roy at Carla’s flat is filled with tension, as she struggles to apologize without breaking down. Roy, ever compassionate, assures her that blame lies solely with Mal — but even his kindness cannot fully ease her conscience. After leaving, Bernie confides in Dev that she fears more trouble is coming, especially with Mal still capable of causing chaos from behind bars.

At the police station, the situation surrounding Kit Green becomes increasingly precarious. Lisa Swain continues her relentless questioning, determined to uncover the truth about the alleged assault. Kit maintains his composure, insisting that Mal is manipulating the narrative to save himself, but cracks begin to show. His conversation with Sarah lingers in his mind, particularly her warning that secrets have a way of surfacing at the worst possible time. Video poster

Unbeknownst to Kit, Mal has already begun pulling strings. From his cell, he contacts a mysterious associate, hinting that he has leverage that could destroy not only Kit’s career but several others in Weatherfield. The tension escalates when Lisa receives an anonymous tip suggesting there may be CCTV footage contradicting Kit’s version of events. Though the footage hasn’t surfaced yet, the mere possibility sends shockwaves through the department.

Back at the flat, Todd Grimshaw’s arrival adds yet another layer of drama. Bloodied and shaken, Todd initially downplays the incident with Theo, claiming it was just a misunderstanding. However, his injuries tell a different story. Sarah and Kit urge him to report Theo, but Todd hesitates, clearly torn between fear and lingering emotional attachment. As the night unfolds, it becomes evident that Theo’s hold over Todd runs deeper than anyone realized.

In a private moment with Sarah, Todd finally admits that Theo’s behavior has been escalating for weeks, culminating in the violent confrontation that left him injured. Sarah is horrified and pushes Todd to take action, warning him that things will only get worse if he stays silent. Kit, sensing an opportunity to do some good amid his own troubles, offers to personally handle the case — a decision that could either redeem him or further complicate his already fragile situation.

Elsewhere, Jodie Ramsey continues to embed herself within Carla and Lisa’s circle, presenting herself as a loyal ally. However, subtle hints begin to reveal her true nature. In a quiet scene, she is seen making a secret phone call, her tone shifting dramatically as she speaks to someone unknown. She references Roy, the fire, and even Mal, suggesting that her involvement in the situation may be far more calculated than anyone suspects.

Carla, unaware of Jodie’s hidden agenda, begins to rely on her more heavily, especially as she juggles supporting Roy and managing the aftermath of the café fire. Lisa, on the other hand, remains slightly wary, her instincts telling her that something about Jodie doesn’t quite add up. This underlying tension sets the stage for a potential betrayal that could have far-reaching consequences.

As the week progresses, Roy makes a tentative visit to the remains of Roy’s Rolls. Accompanied by Carla, he stands silently in the charred space, taking in the damage. Though much of the café structure has survived, the emotional weight of the moment is almost too much for him to bear. For a brief moment, it seems as though Roy might walk away for good.

But in true Roy fashion, resilience begins to emerge. Quietly, he starts to discuss plans for rebuilding — not just the café, but his sense of purpose. Carla is visibly moved, recognizing this as a turning point. However, the road ahead is far from smooth, especially with so many unresolved threats looming over Weatherfield.

The biggest question remains: will the truth about Kit’s actions come to light before Mal can manipulate the narrative to his advantage? And if it does, who will be caught in the fallout?

At the same time, Todd’s situation with Theo threatens to escalate further, potentially drawing more residents into a dangerous and volatile situation. And with Jodie’s true motives still hidden beneath the surface, it seems increasingly likely that the fire may have been just the beginning of a much larger and more sinister chain of events.

As tensions rise and secrets inch closer to exposure, one thing is clear — Weatherfield is on the brink of another explosive chapter, and no one will emerge unscathed.
