Since Megan’s arrest, Daniel has continued to work at Weatherfield High School, though rumours have been swirling around the school about his ex girlfriend.]

Next week, Daniel will accuse Hope of using AI on her poetry assignment. Confronting Hope in the corridor of Weatherfield High, Daniel tells her she must write a new poem.

When Hope says she needs to “wait for the inspiration to strike,” Daniel pushes her to write a new poem during her break.

Defiantly, Hope says she can write one on the spot and takes the exercise book and pen from Daniel and begins writing a spiteful poem about his relationship with Megan.

Reading it aloud, Hope says: “Mr Osbourne must be thick, he was dating a woman who was totally sick. She had a thing with a student…”

Before she can finish, Daniel lurches towards Hope to take the workbook off her, causing her to scream and accuse the teacher of assaulting her.

As Daniel tries to deescalate the situation, Hope walks off saying she’s going to tell headteacher Mrs Crawshaw.

Our Weatherfield insider previously said: “This is a potentially career-ending combination for Daniel because instead of dealing with Hope being cheeky and provocative, he loses it.”

Further spoilers have revealed that the incident at school will cause Daniel to spiral, leaving his son Betie scared by his dad’s anger.

This will lead Daniel to decide he needs to be alone and he tells his family he’s going to the Lakes.

However Daniel will actually lock himself away at home, with only a bottle of whisky for company.

Will Daniel ever be able to rebuild his life and put his relationship with Megan behind him?

You’re always in for a nightmare if you go up against Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) in Coronation Street.

The teenager is the daughter of John Stape, the murderous villain who caused a huge amount of chaos when he lived in Weatherfield.

As Hope has grown up, the ITV soap has made is abundantly clear that she shares DNA someone who had a very dark mind. When she was little, Hope developed a fascination towards fire, and also hid her cousin in an attic and let his loved ones believe he had gone missing.

When she joined Weatherfield High, Hope became interested in a book that had been written about her serial killer father. She even decided to threaten some nasty girls at school, weilding a hammer and telling them that her biological dad killed a woman with the same weapon.

In recent weeks, Hope decided to stir the pot in the aftermath of Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) being exposed as an child abuser.

Hope makes Daniel’s situation even worse

Hope’s pal Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) was the person to expose Megan’s inappropriate relationship with Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) but instead of supporting him, she decided to imply that Megan and Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) were colluding against him.

Hope said that Daniel was only being kind to Sam because he was trying to extort information out of him regarding Megan, with the intention of telling her later.

Given Sam’s high levels of anxiety, it was a bad move from Hope, who sometimes cannot see that she’s actually done something quite harmful.

This side to Hope’s personality is revisited next week, as she ends up creating a problem for Daniel.

At school, when Daniel tells Hope that he suspects that she cheated on her poem and used AI, Hope retaliates with a snide remark about Megan.

Still struggling with the fact that he was in a relationship with an abuser, Daniel tries to take control and orders Hope to write another poem. He’s further wound up though, as Hope makes one up about Daniel and Megan.

As Daniel tries to grab the paper out of her hand, Hope accuses him of assault, just as Mrs Crawshaw arrives and demands to know what’s going on.

It would appear the future of his career is hanging in the balance later in the week, as Daniel tells Ken Barlow (William Roache) about the disciplinary action Crawshaw took against him.

He later rants to Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) about the situation but he ends up scaring young Bertie. Daniel tells Ken and Adam that he’s heading to the Lakes to clear his head, and they agree to look after Bertie. However, when he’s alone, Daniel shuts the world out with a bottle of whisky beside him.

What’s next for the character?

And will Hope take the comments back if she realises she’s made a mistake?
