HEARTBREAKING EastEnders reveals full details of pregnant Nicola Mitchell’s heartbreaking premature labour storyline

EASTENDERS has revealed the full details of pregnant Nicola Mitchell’s heartbreaking premature labour storyline.

The Sun revealed earlier today how the soap is set to be rocked by this latest tragic plot, with producers working with specialists as they tackle such a sensitive subject.

Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) is pregnant with George Knight’s (Colin Salmon) baby.

It was revealed they were expecting a child after a brief affair brought them back together.

George already has two daughters – Anna and Gina and son Junior – while Nicola has two grown sons, Barney and Harry.

However, heartbreaking scenes next week on EastEnders will see Nicola give birth prematurely to a baby girl, after she goes into labour far too soon.

The week will start with George getting ready to launch his new restaurant, when Harry notices his mum Nicola is acting distant – and there is a sad reason why.

An source told Digital Spy: “Harry wants to know why his mum appears so distracted.

“Backed into a corner, Nicola is forced to confess she hasn’t felt the baby move for a while, and she’s getting worried…”

As Nicola doesn’t want to worry George about the baby as he is busy getting ready for his launch, Harry and Gina take her to the hospital where its confirmed the baby is alive.

But sadly things then take a turn, as she finds out something about Penny and the two pregnant women have an argument.

Nicola is then suddenly hit by a wave of pain, as she realises something is very wrong when she starts having contractions.

Eventually George is made aware of what happens he rushes home to find Nicola in a terrible state.

They rush to the hospital and Nicola is faced with prospect of having her baby prematurely.

With no other choice, doctors try to deliver the child safely but there are complications and Nicola has to have an emergency caesarean.

The EastEnders source added: “Nicola is terrified but knows this is her child’s only chance of survival.

“Once her daughter arrives she’s whisked into an incubator, with the devastated Nicola and George aren’t even allowed near her.”

Meanwhile, EastEnders bosses sought advice from Bliss to ensure Nicola and George’s storyline is portrayed as accurately and as sensitively as possible.
