Javi Reveals His True Reason for Returning to Salem
Rafe (Galen Gering) — not to mention Dimitri (Peter Porte) — was surprised to see Javi (Al Calderon) back in Salem. Rafe and Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) assume he’s there to reunite with Leo (Greg Rikaart). But Javi has something a bit different in mind.
Meanwhile, after the — pretty honest — assessment he got from Dimitri, Leo goes running to Marlena (Deidre Hall) so she can assure him he’s not the hot mess he so obviously is.
Stephanie Defies Alex
Stephanie (Abigail Klein) told Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) that, after her kidnapping ordeal, she really wants to get a gun for protection. Alex wasn’t thrilled by the idea. Neither was Steve (Stephen Nichols).
Stephanie can’t push back against her beloved Papa. But she can go against Alex. So she does. She’s the one traumatized, so she should be the one to decide how she deals with it. Besides, Marlena is busy counseling Leo. She doesn’t have time for people with real problems.
Chanel (Raven Bowens) has already told Johnny (Carson Boatman) how she feels about EJ (Dan Feuerriegel). And she’s told him how Johnny should feel about EJ, too. Now that this is settled, Chanel can move on to the other side of her family.
She suspects Theo (Tyler Joseph Andrews) knows something about EJ. And Chanel wants to know what it is. Goodness knows, her mother isn’t talking. And Paulina (Jackée Harry) obviously knows something, as well. Chanel has a teething baby at home and another one on the way. Of course, she’s got the time to stick her nose into other people’s business.
Stephanie’s decision doesn’t just create tension—it ignites a full-blown conflict. Alex can’t understand why she would go behind his back, especially after he made it clear he was worried about her safety and mental state. But from Stephanie’s perspective, Alex’s concern feels more like control than care. She’s tired of being treated like she’s fragile. The kidnapping may have shaken her, but it also made her more determined than ever to take charge of her own life.
When Alex confronts her, emotions run high. He questions her judgment, while she accuses him of not trusting her. What starts as a disagreement quickly spirals into something deeper, exposing cracks in their relationship that neither of them wanted to acknowledge. Stephanie insists that healing doesn’t look the same for everyone—and for her, feeling protected means being able to protect herself. Whether Alex can accept that remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, Javi’s return continues to stir curiosity—and suspicion. As he finally sits down with Gabi and Rafe, he reveals that his trip back to Salem isn’t about rekindling anything with Leo. In fact, Javi admits that his past with Leo is complicated and best left in the past. Instead, he hints at a new opportunity that brought him back—one that could potentially involve business, family, or even something more mysterious.
Gabi, never one to take things at face value, presses him for details. She senses there’s more to the story than Javi is letting on. Rafe, on the other hand, is cautiously optimistic. He wants to believe Javi has turned over a new leaf, but his instincts as a cop keep him on guard. Javi assures them both that he’s not here to cause trouble—but in Salem, things are rarely that simple.
Elsewhere, Leo’s session with Marlena proves to be both comforting and confronting. Leo arrives expecting reassurance, but Marlena doesn’t let him off easy. While she does affirm his worth, she also challenges him to take responsibility for the chaos he often creates. Leo struggles with this duality—wanting to be seen as misunderstood, yet knowing deep down that he often sabotages himself.
Marlena encourages Leo to reflect on his patterns, particularly when it comes to relationships. Why does he push people away? Why does he seek validation in ways that ultimately hurt him? Leo, for once, doesn’t deflect with humor or sarcasm. Instead, he listens. It’s a rare moment of vulnerability that could mark the beginning of real growth—if he’s willing to follow through.
Back at the DiMera orbit, Chanel’s determination to uncover the truth about EJ intensifies. Her conversation with Theo starts off casually enough, but it quickly becomes clear that she’s digging for information. Theo tries to play it cool, but Chanel is relentless. She knows he’s holding something back, and she’s not going to let it slide.
Theo finds himself in a difficult position. Loyalty to family conflicts with his desire to stay out of drama. He doesn’t want to betray anyone, but he also doesn’t want to lie outright. Chanel senses his hesitation and pushes harder, reminding him that whatever EJ is hiding could have consequences for everyone.
As the tension builds, Theo finally gives in—just a little. He doesn’t reveal everything, but he drops enough hints to confirm Chanel’s suspicions: EJ is definitely involved in something shady. That’s all Chanel needs. Her curiosity turns into determination, and she sets her sights on getting to the bottom of it, no matter what.
Meanwhile, Paulina watches all of this unfold with growing concern. She knows Chanel is stepping into dangerous territory, but stopping her daughter has never been easy. Paulina herself is carrying secrets—secrets that could explode if exposed. She fears that Chanel’s investigation might uncover more than she bargained for.
As the day unfolds in Salem, it becomes clear that everyone is standing at a crossroads. Stephanie is fighting for independence, even if it costs her relationship. Javi is trying to rewrite his narrative, though not everyone is convinced. Leo is facing his inner demons, perhaps for the first time. And Chanel is pulling at threads that could unravel an entire web of secrets.
By the end of the day, one thing is certain: the truth has a way of coming out—and when it does, it rarely leaves anything unchanged.
