Sister Wives star Kody Brown has fans buzzing after watching him attempt to twist Meri Brown‘s part in their
marriage demise on the latest episode of the TLC series.
But Kody blurted it out, the real reason the word “abandonment” is like fingernails on a chalkboard to him, and viewers
think his version stinks.
Sister Wives: Meri Brown’s Neat Little Package
Sister Wives viewers watched last season as Meri Brown heard everything Kody Brown said about their marriage. So, she opted to move forward by ending it.
But, unlike the other two ex-wives, Meri severed the relationship the same way she entered it 30 years ago, through the church. She obtained a release after meeting with the church board.
For Meri, this was important for her to move on. So, she officially became single in the eyes of her church. But was there another reason she wanted this done in a neat little package?
Kody Brown’s Release Comes Along with Baggage
Meri Brown informed Kody Brown that she applied for the release, so he could have attended the hearing if he wanted to. But the Sister Wives patriarch chose to ignore it. Now he has a major complaint, and it is too late to fix this, it’s over.
Kody believes this release leaves him stigmatized in the church. Despite not having much to do with his religion in a while, this could cause a major problem for the only wife he has left.
Kody Brown talks as if he were blindsided by the call he got from the church elders. They told him Meri Brown was granted a release under the terms of abandonment. Now that rubbed the father of 18 the wrong way. But there’s a reason behind his angst over being tagged with abandonment.
Sister Wives fans debate whether Meri Brown saw a hidden perk that sent her to the church for that release. While Meri didn’t seem vengeful over what Kody did to her, fans thought she had every right to be.
But Kody let it slip about why he had a problem with this release. So, whether Meri realizes this or not, the abandonment now pinned on Kody, could go against him in the future if he’s looking to take on more wives.
In a fleeting sentence during Sunday night’s Sister Wives episode, Kody Brown said this could cause problems if he ever wanted to take on more wives. Fans heard Robyn Brown say plenty of times that she wants sister wives. So, is this something these two have in mind?
And if so, did Meri know what the claim of abandonment would do to Kody and Robyn? It could leave them stuck in a monogamous relationship for good. Because without the church’s blessing, polygamy wouldn’t happen for them.
Sure, they could move women in, but that wouldn’t be the same. They have minor kids in the house, so Robyn would likely want any new relationships under the church’s guidelines.
So, whether Meri Brown meant to or not, it looks like Kody Brown believes she clipped his wings for plural marriage in the future. And Sister Wives fans are loving it today.
