NO WAY OUT FOR SAM? CORONATION STREET UNLEASHES THE DARKEST NIGHTMARE YET! 😰⚡
Coronation Street‘s Sam Blakeman becomes a shadow of his former self next week, after a series of disturbing events leave him feeling terrified. Will the teenager reach out for help, or suffer in silence?
With a meteor shower due to take place, Sam tries and fails to convince Hope Dobbs to come to the Red Rec with him. But Sam’s day takes a turn for the worse when he finds himself being terrorised by Will Driscoll following their recent disputes over Megan Walsh.
“Sam is on his way to the park when he hears Will threatening him,” explains our Corrie source. “He’s so panicked by the situation that he drops his telescope, causing it to smash, then legs it.
“Earlier in the day, Sam sees Will shoot a nasty look at him, which is bad enough, but this is just awful.”
Later in the week, Leanne Battersby spots Sam and Hope looking over the broken telescope, so she probes them on what happened. At first, Hope encourages Sam to tell the story, but ultimately, the schoolgirl ends up teasing him about his fixation on Will. As Sam loses his temper with Hope, is he about to lose one of his oldest friends?

Sam then makes his way down the ginnel, where he is accosted by Will for a second time.
“Sam reaches his arms out towards Will,” our spy reveals. “It’s so unlike Sam to resort to being physical. In the past, he’s been so great at confiding in his loved ones, but now he seems intent on fighting his battles on his own.”
Thankfully, Sam is still showing interest in his schoolwork as he goes about preparing for an upcoming maths test. But even so, it doesn’t take long for Leanne to feel worried for her surrogate son – while Nick Tilsley and Toyah Battersby voice their own concerns to each other, discussing whether the teen would benefit from counselling.

However, the couple are unaware that Sam has eavesdropped on the conversation and jumped to the conclusion that his own family don’t trust a word that he’s been saying.
Next, Nick and Toyah call on Roy Cropper, who offers to play chess with Sam, before catching sight of him looking distressed in Victoria Gardens. There, Roy learns that Sam has found a tracking device in his schoolbag, which prompts him to spiral.
Who is keeping tabs on Sam’s whereabouts? And what will this mean for his troubled mind?
Coronation Street‘s producer Kate Brooks recently announced plans to explore Sam’s mental health in a big storyline across spring and summer.
“His mental health has been really damaged by everything that has happened [with Megan] – by the manipulation, by the fact that he wasn’t believed, by the fear that he felt every time he was with Megan,” Brooks explained.
“We’re going to tell a big mental health story with Sam. He’s going to really struggle over the course of spring and early summer. It’s about his family realising, hopefully before it’s too late, that he’s in desperate need of help and he’s really vulnerable.”
