Beware! Obsessed Doctor Todd’s new romance revealed in Emmerdale

Doctor Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) is busy manipulating Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) and Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) amid her attempt to destroy Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) in Emmerdale.

For a reason yet to be revealed, Doctor Todd has spent the past few months slowly chipping away at Jacob’s confidence. It began at Hotten General Hospital, and featured Doctor Todd twisting situations involving the enthusiastic resident doctor.

This ongoing situation has left Jacob’s head in a mess. When he’s not questioning whether he’s got what it takes to be a doctor in a busy NHS hospital, he’s busy believing that he is capable, and it’s due to the fact Doctor Todd is so unpredictable in what she says to him.

Somedays her words will leave Jacob in a dark place, but other times she’ll give him opportunities to better his career, and comments on what a good job he does in the hospital.

If this was kept to the confines of Hotten General, perhaps Jacob’s nightmare would’ve been over sooner, but things are now even more complex due to Doctor Todd living in the village.

She has moved in with Vanessa, meaning the lines between her and Jacob have blurred even more – and Doctor Todd is taking advantage of it.

Caitlin has now started telling Vanessa and Manpreet that Jacob is obsessed with her. Situations unfold between the two, and Doctor Todd can immediately tell Manpreet and Vanessa a different story to make it seem as though Jacob is being completely inappropriate.

Shortly after she moved to the village, Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) left a bottle of wine on the doorstep but pretended that the gift was from Jacob. To Doctor Todd, this was the perfect chance to reiterate to her two pals that Jacob wasn’t considering the professional boundaries between them.

In this evening’s episode, Doctor Todd was at the pub with Vanessa and a few other women playing another round of darts. As the alcohol continued to get poured, Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) noted to a tipsy Vanessa that it’s very clear she has chemistry with Doctor Todd.

When they got home, a drunk Vanessa was too busy trying not to throw up to focus on the fact Caitlin was speaking about Jacob again, claiming that the conversation they had in the cafe that morning still proves her theory that he’s fixated on her.

Todd then told Vanessa to go to bed, and said that she’d ensure she wouldn’t feel too hungover by the morning. Vanessa was taken in by how kind Doctor Todd is – but is there a genuine connection between them?

Or is the surgeon just being nice so she can pull the wool over Vanessa’s eyes when it comes to what’s really going on with her and Jacob?

Emmerdale‘s manipulative Dr Todd makes a move on clueless Vanessa Woodfield during a night out in The Woolpack next week. As Vanessa, Todd and Manpreet Sharma come together for some downtime in the pub, barmaid Mary Goskirk suggests a doubles darts match to help the group bond.

When Vanessa and Todd find themselves on the same team, Todd sticks the moves on her teammate as the match commences…

“Bossy, blonde and a little bit twisted – Dr Todd is exactly Vanessa’s type!” says our Emmerdale insider. “Todd sidles up behind Vanessa and coyly helps her to aim her dart as an excuse to get closer to her.

“However, innocent Vanessa is totally oblivious to these smooth moves and doesn’t even realise that Todd is flirting with her!”

Later, Todd continues her ruthless mission to ruin Jacob’s life by seizing the opportunity to spread dangerous lies about him around the village and manipulate other people’s opinions of him.

“Now that Todd has firmly inserted herself into village life, her presence is making new dad Jacob increasingly uncomfortable,” continues our spy. “In an attempt to ruin Jacob’s private life after he reported her to HR, Todd starts to sow seeds of deception throughout the village to convince those around him that he’s a bad person.

“It’s a huge risk given that most of the village have known Jacob since he was a child, but Todd is a fearless manipulator.”

When the darts divas organise another match at the end of the week, there’s a further opportunity for Todd to make her feelings towards Vanessa known…

“It’s unclear at this stage whether Todd actually fancies Vanessa, or whether this is all just part of her wider scheming,” warns our source. “Either way, we feel sorry for Vanessa – she’s a total catch and deserves some romance. A successful doctor would be a great match for her if only Todd wasn’t totally evil. Things could get a lot more dangerous for our village vet from here on out…”

Will Todd continue to pursue the vibrant vet? And will Vanessa notice her advances next time, sparking a new relationship?
