SHOCKING MOVE!! Coronation Street reveals Carl’s destructive move as Debbie disowns him
Carl Webster made a destructive and potentially damaging move on Coronation Street tonight, with Weatherfield’s greatest schemer reacting badly after he was disowned once again by his mother, Debbie.
Carl and Debbie, who originally thought they were siblings, have had a fraught relationship in recent months on the ITV soap. Despite Debbie wanting to see the best in her son, Carl’s actions have made that almost impossible.

With various schemes in the works, Carl asked Debbie to lend him £10,000 to pay off a debt, but that backfired after Ronnie Bailey discovered that he only owed half of that. This led Debbie to cast Carl away, but he came back with a vengeance.
After Carl was hospitalised following an attack by Ronnie, he made an audacious bid to get some money by blackmailing Debbie. He asked her to sign over half the shares for the hotel, or he would report Ronnie to the police.
Tonight’s episode began with Debbie mulling over her predicament, though Ronnie stressed that they should never give in to Carl. The schemer, meanwhile, was gloating about his new role as joint owner of the hotel, and immediately fired Ryan Connor.
Ronnie told Debbie that he was considering handing himself into the police, though she was nervous. He reasoned that it was the only way to thwart Carl and quell some of the “sick power” that he was wielding.
Debbie, however, suggested that they try to reason one last time with Carl. As he arrived, he demanded that she sign on the dotted line, but Debbie said that she wouldn’t be handing over the hotel.

As the pair got into an argument over the painful history, Debbie remarked that Carl’s actions were a result of him being a “cruel, bad man” rather than a “hurt little boy”. She said that ultimately wasn’t “loveable” despite her best efforts, and Carl quietly left.
While Debbie later expressed remorse for her choice of words, Carl’s hurt brought out his vengeful streak, and he trashed his hotel room. He also left the taps and bath running, potentially threatening Carla Connor and Lisa Swain’s wedding…
Coronation Street fans think have ‘rumbled’ why Debbie Webster is seemingly covering for her younger brother, Carl, after his despicable move.
Those who followe the ITV soap are seeing the ramifications of the recent multi-vechicle pile-up which sent shockwaves across the Street and saw Billy Mayhew tragically lose his life.
The horror incident took place during the one-off episode, Corriedale, which saw Corrie and Emmerdale crossover for the first time, and featured a number of characters from both Weatherfield and the Dales either in danger or trying to help those in need.
As fo , Carl, who ended up involved in the smash as he was drink-driving, he was determined to get away from Weatherfield for good after family drama erupted at Debbie’s wedding to Ronnie Bailey. She tried to stop him doing a runner, and he ended up leaving the venue with her in the passenger seat.

Soon, on the stormy road between Hotten and Weatherfield, tensions reached a climax between Carl and Debbie and he was seen losing control of the car, ploughing into the existing wreckages that had already piled up between Becky, Lisa and Betsy Swain, and Emmerdale’s Aaron Dingle and John Sugden.
The crash continued to go from bad to worse and in a cruel twist, Carl, who later collapsed and was aided by trainee paramedic Asha Alahan, pulled his unconscious sister, who was diagnosed with dementia last year, from the passenger side into the driver’s seat to make it seem like she was behind the wheel, and therefore partly to blame for the accident.
While their brother, Kevin, has been determined to make Debbie see Carl is lying, and that he saw him driving as they left the wedding venue, Debbie has been determined to take the blame herself, believing that they had stopped to swap seats before the crash even took place.
Debbie has since been questioned by the police over the incident, and as seen during Thursday’s (January 8) episode of the ITV soap, it was revealed that the hotel owner, who was diagnosed with dementia last year, now faces three charges of death by dangerous driving and excess alcohol.
And one theory that is continuing to be shared among Corrie fans is that Debbie isn’t Carl’s sister after all, and is instead his mother, and that she was close to telling him the truth in the car before the crash, which comes shortly after the death of who is thought o be his mum, Elaine.
@NoniFlax101 said: “Debbie seemingly absolutely determined to protect Carl and lie for him to the detriment of herself – he’s surely going to turn out to be her son. #Corrie.” @thebiggestswif commented: “Why is debbie protecting carl… she actually his mum like everyone thinks??? orrrrr.” @jules2007 wrote: “Had an inkling for weeks that Carl is actually Debbie’s son.”
@clarep1987 posted: “I’m starting to believe the theory about Carl and Debbie that’s going around. #Corrie.” @charleezcat shared: “#corrie Carl is Debbie’s son. That’s why she’s covering for him.” @Song_covers01 added: “That random “Debbie is Carl’s mum” theory is getting more likely everyday because otherwise wtf #Corrie.”
This week in Coronation Street, Debbie Webster returned to the cobbles after her difficult time behinds bars.
She won her appeal, able to come back to the Street after months inside.
But, Debbie’s return scenes have left lots of viewers baffled over how to freedom came to be.

Debbie’s appeal in Coronation Street
Viewers will know that Debbie Webster ended up in prison at the start of the year. She took the blame for the Corriedale crash that killed Billy Mayhew. Of course, it was actually her son Carl who was behind the wheel at the time, but Debbie wanted to protect him.
With Debbie having a difficult time inside and suffering from another TIA, she prepared herself for her appeal last week. She hoped that her dementia would be taken into account when the court made its decision.
Skip straight to this week, and Debbie was seen talking to Carl Webster on the precinct swings with her family being concerned after she’d gone ‘missing’ following her release from prison.
Debbie was pleased to see Carl happy to see her, but the rest of the Websters soon expressed their concerns when they discovered that Carl wanted £10k from Debbie to pay off Fiona.

Coronation Street fans baffled over ‘missing’ Debbie scenes

Believing that they missed crucial court scenes, fans were shocked to realise that they hadn’t. The soap just had never filmed them to begin with. No explanation was given into the exact grounds of Debbie’s appeal or how her prison release came to be, with fans believing that this was too important to just skip over.
One person on Reddit wrote: “So she obviously won her appeal. On what grounds? Surely not because of her dementia? And if it is doubts about whether she was driving, why aren’t they after Carl? Really confused.”
Another replied: “Yes I’m confused and when I watched it I thought I had missed an episode,” and a third contributed: “I even went back through the schedule to check.”
A final fan added: “Won on the grounds of convenient for the plot.”
