Summer’s sinister plan for Theo exposed in Coronation Street’s ITVX release ahead of mystery murder
Warning, this article contains spoilers for tonight’s Coronation Street episode (April 17), featuring Summer and Carl. The episode has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube.
Coronation Street fans are set to see a shocking twist tonight, as Summer takes a drastic step that could change everything.
With Todd finally home after Theo’s brutal attack, emotions are running high on the cobbles.
And for Summer, seeing the reality of what Theo has done pushes her to make a decision that could have huge consequences.

Todd returned home tonight in Coronation Street
After a traumatic few days, Todd is back home following his hospital stay. But it’s clear he’s still struggling, both physically and emotionally, after everything he’s endured.
While Theo had hoped he could twist the situation in his favour, that plan appears to have backfired.
At the same time, Summer has been dealing with a bombshell of her own. Carl recently told her that Theo was responsible for Billy’s death, even offering to “sort it” — for a price.
Although she initially struggled to understand, the pieces have started to fall into place, and with further revelations on the way, Summer now knows Theo is guilty.

Summer made a deal with Carl
Up until now, Summer has resisted Carl’s offer. But after seeing just how badly Theo has affected Todd, she decides she can’t stand by any longer.
In tonight’s episode, she meets with Carl and agrees to a risky deal. Determined to see Theo punished, she makes her position clear — she wants him behind bars.
She tells him: “I want Theo gone. I want him to rot in prison for what he’s done. Ten grand. But it needs to be good enough for the police. Right, I won’t pay anything until he’s locked up.”
Carl doesn’t hesitate to accept, setting the wheels in motion for what could be a dangerous chain of events.
While Summer may believe she’s doing the right thing, fans know Carl is far from trustworthy. As one of the five potential victims in the show’s upcoming murder storyline, he’s already at the centre of danger.
And with the mystery death just around the corner, this deal could have serious repercussions.
If things spiral out of control, Summer could find herself in deeper trouble than she ever expected. Or worse, her actions could play a part in whatever deadly twist is coming next.
Coronation Street spoilers have confirmed Summer’s next move as a harrowing storyline continues to play out on screen. Fans have been predicting what Summer could be capable of, as she was shocked when Abi revealed Debbie wasn’t the person driving the car which killed Billy, Carl was.
Next week, Summer remains suspicious about who is really responsible for Billy’s death, as she questions if Theo is to blame. Summer goes round to see Theo and quizzes him about Billy’s last moments, but she is shocked when she discovers Todd and Theo are moving away to Belfast.
Later on, Summer meets up with Todd for a drink and tells him how she now suspects Theo killed Billy. How will Todd react?

Meanwhile, Sarah tells George about Theo and Todd’s plans to leave Weatherfield. Sarah and George set off with Summer to speak to Todd but are foiled by Theo who through the ring doorbell lies that they are already on their way and Todd is paying for petrol.
Todd persuades Theo to unlock the bedroom door and let him call Sarah to back up his story then he’ll know that he can be trusted.
Todd convinces Sarah what Theo said was true. Theo makes out he’s going for a shower while Todd finishes his packing. With Theo out of the way, Todd tries to escape, will he manage to get out of the flat?
Sarah is at home chatting with Kit when the buzzer goes, who is at the door?
Later in the week, Debbie calls Christina, Glenda, Sally and Bernie together and suggests they organise a girls’ trip away, however the mood is ruined when Bernie reveals that Carl has offered to share some information with Summer regarding Billy’s death in exchange for Billy’s life insurance. Debbie confronts Carl over Summer’s allegation.
Wednesday’s episode of the ITV soap will be focussed entirely on Todd. In this moving one strand episode Todd finally stands up against Theo as he reports him for assault and opens up about the months of abuse to Lisa and Kit.
Meanwhile, Theo knows his time is up and is desperate to flee Weatherfield but as news of his violent controlling behaviour spreads is it too late for him to escape?
Knowing they need the video footage from Theo’s tablet to strengthen Todd’s case Sarah approaches Theo’s van, opens the door and rummages in Theo’s holdall. She finds a tablet and is about to grab it but is she about to make things worse?
Debbie summons Carl to the flat and quizzes him again about Summer’s claim that he tried to extort money from her in return for information about Billy’s death.
When Carl reveals he heard someone confess to Billy’s murder but he’s not willing to reveal who, Debbie’s disgusted with him and throws him out.
As Debbie stares vacantly ahead, Ryan’s concerned to realise she’s having one of her episodes. Ryan tells Ronnie about Debbie and Carl’s row and how it triggered another episode. How will Ronnie react?
Meanwhile, Todd struggles to get back to normality. George offers to accompany Todd to the flat to pick up his things but when the door buzzer goes Todd is thrown into panic and he rushes out of the flat in tears.
At No.11, Christina and Mary fuss over Todd. When Summer pulls him in for a hug, Todd winces in pain and she’s heartbroken to realise how fragile he is.
Coronation Street star Harriet Bibby has admitted she ‘doesn’t know’ what her character ‘will do’ as she exposes Theo Silverton for being involved in the death of her guardian, Billy Mayhew.
As those who follow the ITV soap know, Debbie Webster recently had to serve prison time after she pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and causing the death of local vicar Billy following a horror multi-vehicle crash earlier this year, when really it was Carl Webster who was behind the wheel at the time of the incident.
Viewers will recall that a grieving Summer was quick to pin the blame of Billy’s death onto Debbie, and wanted to see her sent down for what she thought was her crimes.
However, Debbie has since been released from behind bars and she’s been trying to get back into the swing of things by heading back to work at the Chariot Square Hotel. But last week, viewers saw Summer spot Debbie, before marching over in search of answers about the night Billy died.
Summer outright asked Debbie if she was covering for someone, and wasn’t actually driving the car at the time of the crash. When Carl’s name was mentioned, Debbie tried to hurry away, seemingly giving Summer the confirmation she needed.
As Ryan Connor approached, a flustered Debbie ended up grabbing the hot plates he had just picked up from the kitchen and as she cried out in pain, Ryan encouraged her to drop the plates while trainee paramedic Asha Alahan rushed in to help. Carl also arrived to see the fiasco unfolding, but was confronted by an angry Summer who made it clear she knew what he had done.

Later, back the flat, Debbie asked Carl what they were going to do about Summer now that she knows the truth. Bumping into Carl, Summer was told she should look closer to home for the truth about what happened, leaving her more confused than ever.
However, during Sunday’sepisode of Corrie, Summer is seen confiding in Asha Alahn about her suspicions that someone other than Carl was involved in Billy’s death, asking her friend what she remembers about the crash.
When Summer gets a text from Todd Grimshaw, she arrives at his flat to find only to find his abusive husband, Theo Silverton, there. Wanting to piece together the night Billy died, Summer asked Theo, who left Billy to die in the minibus he had been driving as it burst into flames, about her guardian’s final moments, leaving him worried that she knows more than she’s letting on.
Eventually, in the Rovers, Summer met with Todd and was shocked when he also confirmed that he’s off to Belfast tomorrow with Theo. Thinking it’s the last chance she’ll get to share her concerns, Summer told him that Carl told her someone else was involved in Billy’s death, and that while she thinks Theo could be capable, she didn’t know why he’d want Billy dead.
Speaking about Summer’s theory, Harriet said: “I do think that Summer believes Theo is capable of murder. Obviously recently she’s been grieving for Billy and so has been quite blinded by that grief and unable to see anything else that’s happening. I don’t think she’s seen it in him until this point, but I think when her suspicions do start to come out, it’s like that moment where the penny drops.
“Suddenly everything makes sense. There’s been some odd moments that have been glazed over for whatever reason and now she’s seen it she can’t unsee it. She does think he’s very capable of doing what he did.”
Sharing why this makes her worried for Todd, the soap star shared: “I think she’s panicking because she has got this whole weight on her of dealing with Billy’s death and feeling very alone but now she’s worried for Todd too because he might be in a vulnerable position and really, he’s all Summer has left. If anything happens to him, I don’t know what she’d do.”
