EastEnders has revealed how Kat Moon intervenes in Jasmine Fisher’s murder trial, as a verdict is reached on Anthony Trueman’s death. This week, Kat was encouraged to give evidence in the trial, but she was still conflicted about Jasmine, and her doubts grew when Sandra Goodwin said she believed she caused her husband’s death over a decade ago.
When she took the stand, Kat tried to defend Jasmine, but she soon crumbled and admitted that she doesn’t believe the teen’s self-defence story.
Kat’s damning evidence was devastating for Zoe, who in today’s episode discovered through Ritchie that Jasmine was planning to change her plea to guilty as a result.
Zoe furiously confronted her mum about wrecking Jasmine’s case, and Kat struggled to deal with the fact that Jasmine could go to prison because of her.
To try and make amends, Kat was granted five minutes with Jasmine in her cell. Jasmine swore that she was unfairly blamed by Sandra for her husband’s death, while Kat admitted that she still hadn’t made up her mind about her.

However, Kat urged Jasmine not to give up and told her that she owed it to herself to give her side of the story in court or she would regret it.
As a result of Kat’s intervention, Jasmine decided to continue pleading not guilty and took the stand that day. She spoke candidly about her unstable childhood and the events of the night she killed Anthony.
Jasmine faced tough questions from the prosecution, who picked holes in her story and highlighted her violent behaviour, and she broke down in tears as the jury retired to come to a decision.
As Jasmine lost her temper back in her cell, the Slaters and the Truemans reflected on the events of the trial in The Vic – until Zoe got a message from Ritchie to say that a verdict had been reached.
Everyone returned to the court, where the foreman of the jury confirmed that they had reached a unanimous verdict. Jasmine stood to hear her fate, but will she be found guilty or not guilty of murder?
