Kim Tate (Claire King) heads to the Dingle household in Emmerdale this coming week, with the intention of building bridges with the family. As expected, the dinner ends up making the feud even worse, as Kim is rushed to hospital after being poisoned – by mushrooms!
The Dingles and Tates are at war with each other right now because of the lengths Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) went to in order to secure Butler’s Farm. Through some pretty vile tactics, Joe damaged the business’ reputation with the hope Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) would have no choice but to sell up.
Moira reached the decision to say goodbye to Butler’s because she found out about Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley) cancer diagnosis. She believed the farm was a sinking ship by that point, and that it was far better to focus on Cain’s health rather than stress about the business.
In the aftermath, Cain and his two boys have moved out and into Wishing Well, while Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) has been appointed the new tenant farmer at Butler’s. In the eyes of the Dingles, the Tates are completely to blame for the family upheaval.
Caught in the middle of the two families is Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick). She’s been put in an impossible situation because while she wants to support her family, she also works for the Tates and is best friends with Kim.
Her determination to fix the animosity between the residents leaves Lydia with the conclusion a dinner with Kim at the table is a good idea. As Lydia gets to work on the dishes, Kim is up at Home Farm preparing to depart. Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) thinks it’s a bad idea, but Kim is ready to show up.
Despite a rocky start with Kim, things seem to take a more positive turn. Suddenly, Kim starts choking on her food and then collapses.

As panic ensues, Cain and Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) lift Kim into the car and take her to hospital.
As the Dingles begin to point fingers, Graham is at the hospital, discovering that Kim’s symptoms line up with mushroom poisoning.
With the suspects gathered in the backroom of the Woolpack, Cain and Caleb Miligan (William Ash) are at each other’s throats. When Graham arrives and reveals the doctors suspect it was the mushrooms, all eyes are on Sam Dingle (James Hooton).
Not wanting to take the blame, Sam points out that Cain told him where to go to forage for them, and wonders if it was deliberate because Cain wanted Kim dead.
Back at the hospital, Joe rushes to Kim’s side, but she’s quick to accuse him of crocodile tears. Annoyed by the accusation, Joe tells Kim that he had nothing to do with her poisoning.
Kim cannot trust anyone.
So who did it?
