The following article contains spoilers from the episode of Emmerdale dated March 20. It hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX.
Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) decided to confront Kim Tate (Claire King) about the contents of her will in Emmerdale today, but her response has only annoyed him further.
Earlier this week, Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) dabbled in a little bit of safe hacking and found Kim’s will. In an attempt to get Joe permanently on his team, Graham told him to read the documents.
He was incredibly annoyed to discover Kim wants Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) to inherit Home Farm when she’s gone. Joe ranted to Graham about how the house is his birth right, and then vowed to do something about it.

First of all, he got closer to Lydia by giving her a random pay rise for her cleaning work. Then, he opened a bank account in her name. After some more snooping, Graham managed to work out that Joe was planning on making it look as though Lydia has been stealing from Kim.
Joe thought that if Kim believed it was actually happening, she’d remove Lydia from the will. However, when Graham and Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) threw their tuppence worth in and told Joe to stop because Lydia isn’t actually the problem, he had to reconsider his moves.
He decided to tell Kim that he had read the will, and actually tell her how he feels about Lydia inheriting the house.

Despite Joe’s story about how Home Farm is the only place that really reminds him of his family, Kim wasn’t going to change her mind. She said that she wants Lydia to have it because if she gave it to Joe, her son Jamie Tate would be annoyed, and when mini Tates Thomas and Millie grew up to also learn they didn’t get the house, they’d have something to say on the matter as well.
Kim knew that prioritising Joe over any of the other Tates was asking for trouble, so she’s given it to Lydia instead and ensured her other relatives are considered elsewhere.
Her reason left Joe unimpressed once again. Is he going to accept this?
Or will he create another plan that sees Kim change her will and therefore sparks a war with Jamie?
