AN ICONIC Coronation Street business is set to be destroyed in a horror arson attack that will leave a fan favourite character fighting for their life.
Bosses at the ITV soap have planned a major new storyline that will see the beloved character face losing everything.
The Sun can exclusively reveal that Weatherfield icon Roy Cropper will be rushed to hospital after someone sets his cafe Roys Roll on fire.
A source said: “Roy’s Rolls is targeted by a mystery firestarter who breaks in and douses the cafe with petrol whilst Roy sleeps upstairs in his flat.
“When residents spot smoke coming out of the windows, emergency services are called.
“As the fire rages and people realise Roy is trapped inside the race is on to get him out alive.

“Will Roy be rescued in time, and what about his precious collection of railway memorabilia and memories of Hayley?
“Is this the end of Roy’s Rolls as we know it, and who wanted to burn down the iconic cafe?”
The shock scenes will air next month as the cafe is gutted by the fire.
Questions will be asked about who has set the cafe on fire – and why – and whether they knew Roy was in there, making it a potential murder investigation.
Roy has recently clashed with electrician Mal who it was revealed has been stalking Bernie Winter.
As Mal went to threaten Bernie, Roy stepped in and sent him on his way, where Mal was later confronted by Bernie’s son Kit, suffering a heart attack as a result.
Mal is set to terrorise Bernie further by threatening to claim Kit attacked him on purpose which would destroy his career.
Also in the frame is Roy’s twisted staff member Jodie Ramsey, who has been stealing from and messing with the lives of her neighbours on the cobbles.
And villain Carl Webster recently plotted an arson attack in the hotel to get back at his birth mum Debbie.
But with Roy facing losing everything in the shock storyline – who will be unmasked as the mystery fire starter?
