Coronation Street fans think they have rumbled Mal Roper’s ‘lie’ as he was visited by DC Kit Green following their recent confrontation that resulted in the former suffering a heart attack.
As fans of the ITV soap know, Mal’s arrival in Weatherfield earlier this year has caused nothing but trouble for Bernie Winter and last month, when he was thought to have been attacked, his terrifying behaviour towards her appeared to be over.
However, it wasn’t long until Kit was handed a new case, and discovered the man who had been attacked was Mal, and that he was in a serious condition. While Kit tried to figure out what to do, he was beaten to it by a colleague and police officers soon arrived at Roy’s and arrested Bernie in front of her shocked husband, Dev Alhan, suspecting she was responsible for the attack.
But Kit confessed to his girlfriend Sarah Platt that he was the one who confronted Mal. “I didn’t kick him or hit him or anything like that. I grabbed him, gave him a shove and warned him off,” he explained. “He’s had a heart attack – he would have had one anyway. I thought it’d blow over but Bernie doesn’t have an alibi.”
It was then during Monday’s (March 16) edition of Corrie that Kit was again having to try and hide his involvement over what happened to Mal, by interfering with a witness who had come forward with information on who he saw with Mal before he ended up in the hospital.

While he succeeded in turning the witness away, Kit was once again left in a difficult situation during Tuesday’s (March 17) edition of the show as DS Lisa Swain informed him that Mal was awake, and he needed to get himself over to the hosptial to interview him about what he remembers.
As Mal spoke, Kit appeared to be in the clear, but as he headed out the door, Mal told him: “I nearly forgot, say hell to your mum for me.” The scenes quickly had Corrie fans speculating on social media that Mal does know that it was Kit who attacked him, and he’s not in the clear just yet.
