Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) is EastEnders’ most loveable rogue.
He’s undoubtedly one of the most universally-loved characters that the BBC soap has introduced in years.
Emerging as an absolute force of nature from a young offenders facility, utterly hilarious, unendingly flirtatious with a gobby front belying a bruised heart, a fear of rejection and a deep-seated desire for acceptance.
That and major daddy issues. Understandable, given he’s the offspring of Max Branning (Jake Wood).
For most of Oscar’s tenure in Walford, he’s been tied to Jasmine Fisher (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness), though with her currently banged up (more on that later), someone else was bound to catch his eye, right?
Right?
Josh arrives in Walford

Next week sees the arrival of Jasmine’s twin, Josh Goodwin (Joshua Vaughan) and his adoptive mum, Sandra (Dawn Steele).
Sandra asking questions about Jasmine arouses the interest of Kim and Denise Fox (Tameka Empson and Diane Parish), who, learning of Josh’s identity, endeavour to unite him with his grandad, Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker).
While they’re initially scuppered by Josh’s unwillingness to see his birth mum, eventually, he agrees to meet the Trueman family at large. When delivering the news to Denise and Kim, he and Oscar lock eyes.
With a sexy, bisexual love triangle set to unfold involving Oscar and the twins, is this the moment it begins? With Jasmine locked up, is the path clear for Oscar and Josh to pursue a romance?

Despite a chequered romantic history that involved a girlfriend he left due to fancying her dad more and his desire to be seen as a playboy, Oscar fell for mysterious newcomer, Jasmine…and he fell hard.
Oscar was initially enraptured by Jasmine’s mystique and certified edge upon meeting her, he soon felt like she was holding too much back, and as his feelings began to deepen, he sought to learn more about his girlfriend. Even though she was reticent to open up at all, he proved he’d support her through anything, including securing her a place to live at the Branning’s, backing her against his sister, Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) when she discovered they’d broken into the doctors surgery, and helped cover her back when she attacked Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins).
As Jasmine continued her mission to torment her birth mum, Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan), in conjunction with devilish Chrissie Watts (Tracy-Ann Oberman), she even endangered Oscar’s life when she set his house ablaze with Zoe inside. Though clearly in love, Oscar walked away when it became incredibly apparent that Jasmine would never share more than she needed to.

After killing her dad Anthony Trueman (Nicholas Bailey) during a fiery Christmas Day showdown, Jasmine settled into the Slater clan and reunited with Oscar, her true identity revealed, while mum Zoe was arrested and charged with murder. With Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) determined to prove Zoe’s innocence and Jasmine anxious that the truth would be revealed, she tried to convince Oscar to run away with her.
Finding an enemy in Oscar’s dad, Max, Jasmine and he went to war with her slapping him with a false accusation, before fleeing the Square alone, breaking Oscar’s heart all over again.
When the combined efforts of Kat and Chrissie located her, she admitted her guilt to Kat and was finally arrested for her crime. Though her phone contained video footage proving that she’d killed Anthony in self defence, the phone ended up in Max and later, Cindy’s hands.
