Coronation Street fans have cast their predictions on how long they think baby Connie will be in Weatherfield after Carla Connor and Lisa Swain were surprised by the arrival.
As fans of the ITV soap know, after a turbulent start to their relationship, things started to look up when Lisa popped the question and the couple moved into their first home, No.6 Coronation Street as the summer drew to a close last year.
But the unexpected arrival on Lisa’s ex-wife, Becky Swain, threw a spanner in the works. The detective constable was, understandably, thrown by Becky’s return from the dead, four years after she was believed to have been killed in the line of duty.
Becky made it clear her return was to get her family back, and after being almost successful in her attempts at pulling the couple apart, and after convincing Lisa and their daughter, Betsy Swain, to leave the country with her, the villain was stopped in her tracks, albeit in dramatic fashion as they become involved in a horror multi-vehicle pile-up.
But with Becky sentenced to 12 years for her crimes, Carla tentatively let Lisa back in and it wasn’t long after they reunited that she surprised Lisa by booking their wedding date, April 23rd to be exact, at the Chariot Square Hotel.
However, before they are able to say ‘I Do’, the couple were surprised by their latest unexpected arrival. As Corrie fans saw earlier this month, the couple were shocked to find a baby left on their doorstep. While Lisa went after the woman hurrying away, Carla took the baby inside, where she and Betsy Swain questioned who the little one could be.
Despite being sweet with the baby at first, when Carla found out it was her brother, Rob Donovan, and prison guard Mandy’s baby, and that she’s agreed that they’ll look after her, Lisa was very surprised by her fiancée’s reaction. Carla was adamant that Connie couldn’t stay and said that her grandmother couldn’t just leave her on the doorstep like she did.

It wasn’t until later that Carla shared how she was really feeling, telling her future wife about how she suffered a miscarriage in 2014. She opened up to Lisa about once being pregnant, with ex-husband Peter Barlow’s baby, and was excitedly looking forward to becoming a mum to a little girl, before suffering the heartbreaking loss.
But it didn’t take long for Carla to take Connie under her wing, with the help of Lisa and her neighbours, even if Sally Metcalfe’s input did leave the couple rolling their eyes a few times.

Since her arrival, Corrie fans have been wondering if Connie’s stay will be temporary or end up being a long-term arrival. And some think they’ve spotted why it’s the latter. After a conversation between neighbours Shona and David Platt, @pinaatti_ said: “The usage of the word ‘borrow.’ ‘…it’s gonna be baby central round here.’ Connie won’t be with the Connor-Swains for short-term, it’s gonna be long-term, isn’t it? (i’m so excited if she is).”
Others, meanwhile, think they spotted the casting advert for the twins to play Connie after it was revealed they were part of Manchester’s The Drama MOB, co-founded by Corrie star Tina O’Brien. @chloeolivia__ said: “Looks like this could’ve been the casting call for little connie, seems she’ll be around for a while longer yet. ‘regular filming’ – is she about to become a series reg”
@_chandelierbing replied: “Oh, it looks like the newest member of the family could be here to stay.” @alohaimarie added: “Little c
