Coronation Street fans appear to be divided over what they think is really happening with Sam Blakeman as his struggles continue following his grooming discovery.

As those who follow the ITV soap know, the teen hasn’t been himself since he exposed the truth about predator Megan Walsh’s secret relationship with schoolboy Will Driscoll.

Corrie viewers will recall that athletics coach Megan ended up moving to Weatherfield after Will refused to leave Hull when his dad, Ben, bought the Rovers Return for his partner, Eva Price. But it wasn’t his training that Will didn’t want to leave, as it was revealed he was in a secret relationship with Megan.

The pair were seen sleeping together just as he turned 16 and Megan later discovered she was pregnant, telling Will, who isn’t her only victim as viewers were also introduced to another teen who admitted to sleeping with Megan, the baby is his.

However, the truth was finally exposed last month when Sam Blakeman, who had sussed out what was going on and was being threatened by Megan into silence, ended up in hospital and eventually confessed what he knew to step-mother Leanne Battersby and her sister, Eva.

The bombshell has caused friction for the Driscoll clan, while Sam appears to be struggling with his own role in the shocking ordeal. In recent scenes, Leanne and Toyah Battersby were seen arguing in the Kabin about Sam’s counselling needs, causing the teen to storm out, embarrassed that they were discussing his issues publicly.

Later, in the Bistro, Will came in and offered Sam an apology, after being encouraged to do so by his step-mother, Eva. Sam reluctantly shook Will’s hand after Leanne and Toyah’s encouragement. But back at Leanne’s flat, Sam answered her phone and was shocked to hear Will on the other end.

Viewers heard Will tell Sam he wasn’t sorry at all and sinisterly warned: “You’ better watch your back because I’m coming for you,” causing a terrified Sam to drop the phone to the floor. During Tuesday’s (April 7) episode of Corrie, Sam was seen confronting Will, telling him his intimidation tactics won’t work.

Will was confused by what Sam was talking about, and later told Eva that Sam had a go at hime but what he said didn’t make any sense. Eva ended up having a word with Leanne, Toyah and Sam’s father, Nick Tilsley, who were quick to jump to Sam’s defence as Eva accused him of making things worse for Will.

But Sam’s problems were only escalating as later, he was seen panicked as Will shouted him from across the cobbles. Sam ran away as Will appeared to give chase. Sam ended up tropping and falling across the street, and was found by his dad who scooped him up and helped him home, but as a paranoid Sam looked back, Will was nowhere to be seen.

While some think Megan could be behind Sam’s torment, others think a mental health storyline is on the cards for the character, played by actor Jude Riordan.
