Jordi’s wife, Caitlin Riley Vilasuso, took to Instagram to share the devastating news, expressing the immense grief their family is experiencing. In a heartfelt post, she described Maddy as more than just a pet—she was their loyal companion for nearly 15 years, standing by their side through life’s many ups and downs. Caitlin recalled how Maddy was their “first baby” before they had children and how she welcomed all three of their daughters into the world, forming an unbreakable bond with their growing family.
Maddy was an ever-present source of love, comfort, and joy in their home. Whether it was posing for family photos or snuggling up for afternoon naps, she was always there, offering her unconditional love. Caitlin shared that their devoted pup stayed strong for them until the very end, even waiting until they completed a major cross-country move before she peacefully passed away. While Caitlin didn’t go into detail about the move, she hinted that more information would be shared soon.
During Maddy’s final days, the Vilasuso family showered her with love, cherishing every moment they had left. “We cried many tears into her beautiful fur and hugged her sweet neck,” Caitlin wrote. “She loved us fiercely, and she was deeply loved in return.” Though their loss is immeasurable, they found comfort in a touching and unexpected sign from above. Just hours after Maddy passed, their daughters—Riley, Everly, and Isla—witnessed something remarkable in the sky. In a video they captured, they saw a cloud formation that resembled Maddy’s profile while she played, a moment Caitlin described as a “God wink.” It was a small but powerful reminder that Maddy’s spirit was still with them. 
Jordi Vilasuso has had a remarkable career in daytime television, earning a Daytime Emmy for his work. Fans have loved him in various soap roles, including Tony Santos on Guiding Light, Griffin Castillo on All My Children, and Dario Hernandez on Days of Our Lives. However, Y&R fans will always remember him as Rey Rosales, a character whose tragic death left a lasting impact on Genoa City. Outside of his acting career, Jordi is a devoted husband and father, having built a beautiful life with Caitlin and their daughters since their marriage in 2012.
