Emmerdale is on another break from our screens today – but fortunately, it’s not as long as the last one.
The popular ITV soap aired its first episode in five days last night, as Joe Tate was attacked in a dramatic cliffhanger.
Emmerdale and Coronation Street have both been airing fewer episodes over the past week, as ITV1 has cleared out its schedules for live coverage of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 games.
Although Emmerdale was back on screens yesterday, it’s off the agenda again today as ITV1 will be screening the France vs Wales game from 7pm.

Emmerdale will return for an hour-long episode at 7.30pm tomorrow, which is released early on ITVX and YouTube as usual.
The episode will see sinister Dr Crowley revealed as the mystery figure who’s been pulling all the strings after Joe’s recent torment.
In dark scenes, Joe regains consciousness at a makeshift hospital and finds Crowley looming over him. It seems that Joe will live to regret recruiting Crowley to carry out his illegal kidney transplant a few weeks ago…

Ned Porteous, who plays Joe, recently teased: “There’s always something going on which is pushing Joe into some sort of jeopardy. Joe’s entire thing is about trying to seem in control of the situation, when that’s really the furthest thing from the truth.
“I’m personally really proud of the work that we did over these weeks and all the stuff we did with James Hillier, who plays Crowley. So I’m really excited to see how they come out. It was really good fun working on that.”
He added: “[James is] a really, really lovely guy. I enjoy working with him, he’s a nice dude and the character that he built is fun – it’s got more dimensions and it serves as a very interesting character going forward.

“Hopefully the audience will like what we do with it, because it gets a bit crazy.”
Also ahead tomorrow, Sarah Sugden and Gabby Thomas are rushed into A&E after an incident on the road, and Laurel Thomas confronts Vinny Dingle over what she heard him saying amid a recent phone glitch in the village.
