Yellowstone Star Insisted On Getting ‘Rammed’ By Bull In Frightening Cowboy Poker Scene – Breaking News Updates

A Yellowstone stunt double insisted on getting attacked by a bull, despite creator Taylor Sheridan pulling back on the idea.

The Western series is among the most physical dramas for its cast with horse riding, fights and ranch work.

But fans of the Paramount Network show will particularly remember a shocking moment in season two when those in the bunkhouse decided to play a game of cowboy poker.

This is when a group sits round a poker table with a free roaming bull and the last to stay on their chair is declared the winner.

Some viewers may have assumed this was fake, however, stunt co-ordinator Jason Rodriguez has shared the conversations that led to bringing this moment to life.

On the official Yellowstone podcast, Jimmy Hurdstrom star Jefferson White began: “There’s only so much you can fake, right? That’s what I’m always amazed at on this show.

“You use movie magic where you can and fake it sometimes but on Yellowstone, it does seem like we come across of sequences where ‘Ah s**t, the best way to do this is to just do it.’

“And I’m thinking a little bit about the cowboy poker sequence, do you remember this?”

Answering his question, Rodriguez continued: “That was an interesting time, when Taylor [Sheridan] wrote that, the producers at the time comes to me and goes ‘How are we going to do this and guarantee the safety of everybody involved?’

“And I’m like ‘Well, we really can’t. I mean, we’re just going to see what happens and I’ll hire the doubles for the actors that are familiar with bulls and bullfighting and bullriding.’

“I had two really good bullfighters there, one in wardrobe and one standing on the side and the girl that took the hit from the bull was Duke Wimberly.

“I originally used [her] in season one to ride a bucking horse and I brought her back to double that girl that gets hit.”

“Taylor, right before we went, said ‘Hey, look I don’t need anybody to get creamed by this bull, just do it and play it for real and whenever it’s done, I’ll just re-write whatever and make the story work around it.’ and I said OK.

“So I get the stunt people together and I tell them all of that and Duke looks to me right in the face and goes ‘No. It says in the script that the girl gets run over.’

“And I go ‘I know it says that but I’m telling you that whatever happens is going to be great.’

“She goes ‘No, I’m going to let it hit me.’

“So I said ‘OK fine, just do whatever you want, I don’t care, don’t die.’

“So she sat there, teeth gritted the entire time, head down, back to the bull and he came and made a beeline for her and rammed the absolute length of her.

“She got up, ran to the fence and everything was fine and we got a really good sequence out of it but that’s kind of how we do stuff on this show.”

As of yet, it isn’t clear exactly when Yellowstone will be returning but fans have been given a rough guide that it will air sometime in November this year.

There are also rumours that John Dutton star Kevin Costner could be back for the final lot of episodes but this hasn’t been officially confirmed.
