On March 21, The Madison, the latest series from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan concluded its first season. Starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell, the emotional drama consisted of six episodes and followed the Clyburn family as they moved from New York City to Montana, all while dealing with a heartbreaking loss.

Paramount+ described the series as “a heartfelt study of grief and human connection,” calling it “Sheridan’s most intimate work to date.”

Christina Voros, who directed all of The Madison‘s first season, told The Hollywood Reporter in March 2026, “It is a simpler story in many ways on the surface, but infinitely more complicated, emotionally, underneath it.”

“There are an abundance of river references to be made when describing The Madison,” she said.

Season 1 of The Madison came to an end on March 21, but the story of the Clyburns isn’t over.

Will there be a season 2 of The Madison?

The Madison season 2 has already been filmed.

In January 2026, Russell told Entertainment Weekly how the shooting schedule for The Madison was adjusted so he could join the series as he was set to be filming Monarch: Legacy of Monsters while the Sheridan show was in production.

“Michelle Pfeiffer and Taylor were able to get together with the people at Paramount+ and said, ‘Well, let’s do two seasons instead of just one,’ ” he explained.

Russell continued, “‘And then before we start the second season next year, instead of doing that, we will start with Kurt’s stuff. We really do want him to play the guy. And we’ll get his first season out of the way first, and jam all that in there, and then go into the second season and do that.’ And so we were able to do that.”

Season 1 of The Madison consisted of six episodes, and so will season 2, according to Russell.

Who is in The Madison season 2 cast?

Pfeiffer and Russell have already filmed The Madison season 2, but the other cast members joining them have not been confirmed.

The rest of the season 1 cast includes Beau Garrett, Elle Chapman, Patrick J. Adams, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Ben Schnetzer, Kevin Zegers, Rebecca Spence, Danielle Vasinova and Will Arnett.

One actor who won’t be returning is Matthew Fox, who plays Paul Clyburn, Russell’s character Preston’s younger brother.

“This is a contained experience for me in the show, and I’m very happy about that,” the Lost actor told TV Insider ahead of the show’s finale. “It’s been an incredible experience.”

What will The Madison season 2 be about?

Plot details for season 2 have not been revealed, but look for future episodes to continue the chronicles of the Clyburns.

In a March 2026 interview with The Wrap, Pfeiffer said season 2 has “a surprising amount of laughs and comical relief.”

“I think that in the first season it goes in between sorrow and grief and denial and trying to be stoic, and all of those confusing feelings when you’ve had a traumatic loss in your life,” she explained. “And so Season 2, I think it’s a little more raw and more in sinking in.”

When will The Madison season 2 come out?

A premiere date for a potential season 2 of The Madison has not been confirmed, but season 1 debuted in March 2026.

The members of the cast are hoping the series keeps going long after season 2.

“I think I speak for everyone when I say we would shoot this gladly forever,” Adams, who portrays Russell McIntosh, told The Hollywood Reporter. “We’ve found something kind of miraculously special here and as long as it’s a story that people want to hear, we’d be happy to tell it.”
