The August 25 episode of Days of our Lives ended with Kristen weeping in her jail cell. This was after Brady yelled at her, and Rachel sobbed to Marlena about her poor, poor Mommy. We were likely supposed to feel sorry for her. But that’s kind of hard to do when, whether or not she actually pulled the trigger, everything that happened is still all her fault.
Before
Sure, Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) didn’t shoot EJ. Rachel (Alice Halsey) did. And now, brave, noble, mother of the year Kristen is taking the blame to protect her precious, innocent, helpless baby girl. Except that Rachel is far from innocent. This was her second murder attempt. And the reason she felt entitled to do so is because Kristen has been a terrible mother, who gave her kid the idea that anything she did was right, and anyone who disagreed was evil. Rachel pulled a gun on EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) because she couldn’t think of any reason not to. After all, if Rachel wanted something, Rachel should have it. No matter what it took.

EJ gave Kristen an ultimatum: Either figure out how to keep Johnny (Carson Boatman) from being convicted for EJ’s shooting, or EJ will identify Rachel as the actual tiny wannabe assassin. So Kristen popped up in court right before the verdict was read and announced that she did it. There. She met EJ’s terms. Pin that medal on her right now.
Why Kristen is Responsible For All Her Problems After August 25 Days of our Lives
Instead
All Kristen needed to do was wait until after the verdict was read. Leo (Greg Rikaart) told Javi (Al Calderon) that the jury was about to find Johnny not guilty. So if Kristen had just bided her time, she would have done what EJ demanded – without incriminating herself. And if Johnny had been found guilty, THEN she could have done her big, dramatic reveal. Kristen is usually really, really smart. We’re not sure what went wrong. But since it’s all her fault, it’s hard to feel moved by the tears that shouldn’t have even been necessary.
